  1. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villa

Philippe Coutinho has done little so far for Villa and this is just dreadful.

John McGinn draws a foul in a dangerous area and Coutinho stands over the dead-ball. But instead over hitting the free-kick into the box, the Brazil forward rolls a pass down the right channel which is too long for it's intended target and goes out for a goal-kick. Poor.

  2. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Leeds 1-1 Wolves

Pedro Neto goes down inside the box under a challenge by Rasmus Kristensen and there's a few half-hearted appeals for a penalty from the Wolves fans. VAR doesn't even deem it worthy of a second look.

  3. DOUBLE SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Southampton have made a double change at the break, by the way.

Yan Valery and Adam Armstrong make way, Jack Stephens and Stuart Armstrong on in their place.

Ben: Want Newcastle to win but love it that Nottingham Forest are back in the top flight. Great club!

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Tottenham thought they had scored a third inside the first 30 seconds of the second half.

Ryan Sessegnon gets around the back of the Saints defence to latch on to Son Heung-min's clever reverse ball.

He tucks home a smart finish was the flag is correctly raised for offside.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

Getting back under way in this afternoon's four Premier League games.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villa

Villa have made an attacking change at the break, with playmaker Emiliano Buendia replacing the more defensive Jacob Ramsey.

  8. 'Aaronson a gem'published at 16:04 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Leeds 1-1 Wolves

    Chris Latchem
    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

Really enjoyable first 45 minutes of the season. Leeds look like they've found a gem in Brenden Aaronson. The American gets the Leeds fans out of their seat every time he gets it.

Hwang Hee-chan's full of hard running for Wolves, and Morgan Gibbs-White looks like he wants to impress after those reported bids from Nottingham Forest.

  9. 'We got a point from a really bad game'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    FT: Fulham 2-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The most positive thing about the game was the result. We started really badly, no positivity, no opening up the defence, no breaking lines, played into their hands, let therm fight, let them run, win little challenges, put us under pressure.

"When we were more direct, found the half spaces, we were pretty much in front of goal, but we never found momentum. After we equalised, we found a bit more of our game but it was really bad overall from us and we got a point for it."

On Thiago's injury: "I have no idea, it looks pretty bad. He didn't look too happy."

On drop in standards after Community Shield win: "All I'm thinking is where did I go wrong. All the boys didn't want to play like this, so we will have to find what it was."

Sulaimon: Give N.Forest their credit. They have done well so far. They can shock Newcastle with a lone goal.

  11. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    HT: Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villa

    Chris Wise
BBC Final Score at the Vitality Stadium

It’s turning into a promising day for the Premier League new boys. Bournemouth have defended with bravery, and a lead given to them by makeshift centre-back Jefferson Lerma.

Villa have moved the ball around with purpose but need something more to pierce the Cherries’ defence.

  12. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

If you look at Newcastle and their possession, they'll have wanted to create more chances.

Forest will be disappointed by their poor ball retention, but if Newcastle aren't creating more you can see them coming into it.

At the moment I can only see one winner if Newcastle get better chances.

  13. Postpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Leeds 1-1 Wolves

    Phil Dawkes
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

A lively and fiercely-contested first-half ends with a huge chance for Wolves as Leander Dendocker's close-range effort is blocked by Illan Meslier.

This has been very entertaining, played out between one side pressing like their life depends on it and another who look a threat each time they break.

Wolves' tricky front trio are causing plenty of problems, but arguably the most impressive player on the pitch has been American Brendan Aaronson, who never stops running, often to carry Leeds into dangerous areas.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

    A typically Tottenham first half?

Spurs historically like to make life difficult for themselves and they went behind to James Ward-Prowse's accurate volley after just 12 minutes of the new season.

But headers from Ryan Sessegnon and Eric Dier - not exactly the pair you'd like to pick out as Spurs scorers in a sweepstake - have turned the game around and Antonio Conte's side have looked hungry for more.

  15. Postpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I'm sure that's one thing Newcastle will look at during half time. How can they test Henderson more?

He's not had to make any outstanding saves, they've all been pretty routine.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Nottm Forest

Newcastle have had 14 shots to Nottingham Forest's three, six on target to Forest's none - but it's goalless at the break at St James' Park.

For all their pressure, Dean Henderson has only had a couple of real saves to make - and neither of those were exactly worldies.

PL newcomers Forest would take a point right now.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa have had most of the game after Jefferson Lerma's early opener for Bournemouth, but the Cherries remain pretty comfortable so far on their return to the Premier League.

  18. Postpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Harry Kane does get his chance on this occasion.

He feeds Son with a smart ball through the Southampton defence and then makes his way into the box to collect Emerson Royal's near-post cross - but Kane's swivelling shot is straight at Saints keeper Gavin Bazunu.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Leeds 1-1 Wolves

All square at the break as Leeds survive a late chance for Leander Dendoncker.

Until then, Leeds had been the better side but their defence still poses some concerns.

  20. Postpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

They are like the couple that never argue but Harry Kane is not happy with Son Heung-min here.

Spurs pounce on a Yan Valery error and Son scampers into the box. Kane finds space at the far post but Son tries to beat defenders instead, making the angle tougher for himself and blasts over.
