  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

Not a HUGE amount to say about that.

Rotherham will be the happier as they've defended well and looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

Middlesbrough missed the best chance of the half when Richard Wood's poor touch in the area gave Duncan Watmore a chance to shoot from 15 yards out but he blasted over the bar.

Boro will spend the international break in the relegation zone if this stays as it is.

Rodrigo Muniz does well to make a yard to get a shot away from 20 yards.

It takes a deflection to go out for a corner, which the Fulham loanee gets up to head wide.

Boro ending the half with something of a flourish.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

Rotherham's last two spells in the second tier have both ended after just one season.

From the evidence of tonight's showing and the eight games prior to it they look far better equipped to compete at this level than previously.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

Conor Washington thinks he should have a penalty for the Millers for a tug on his shirt by Anfernee Dijksteel.

The referee isn't interested and that seems the right call.

  13. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

Clever free-kick routine nearly pays dividends for the Millers.

Conor Washington is played in and squares for the onrushing Richard Wood but it's just in front of him.

Boro clear it out for a corner that they defend well.

  14. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

The home side win a free-kick 25 yards out for a foul by Conor Washington on Anfernee Dijksteel.

Ryan Giles' free-kick is well hit but Viktor Johansson is down well to beat it away.

  15. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

    Better from the home side.

Duncan Watmore goes on an enterprising run into the Rotherham area and sets it back for Isaiah Jones to shoot from 12 yards.

His low effort skids just past the post.

  16. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

There's no real flow to the game at the moment.

The away side look threatening on the counter attack, while Boro haven't been able to get anywhere near as many attacks going as boss Chris Wilder would have liked.

  17. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

The Millers have the ball in the net from a corner but the whistle had long since blown for a foul in the area.

You can see why Rotherham have been such a threat from set pieces this season.

  18. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham

The home side side are starting to get things together a bit now.

They win a corner down their right that the Millers defend and win a free-kick for a foul on Richard Wood.

Decent chance for the home side.

Richard Wood errs as he goes to clear a ball into the area and his poor touch runs nicely for Duncan Watmore.

However, the Boro forward slashes at his effort and it goes well over the bar.

Anything other than win for Boro tonight will see them spend the international break in the Championship relegation zone.

As has been the case for much of the season so far, they're yet to really get going in this one.
