    Wigan Athletic 0-1 Bristol City

In case you wondered how hot it was today, the pigeons at the DW Stadium are struggling.

The second-half restart was briefly held up by a pigeon, yep you read that right.

A thirsty bird was busy drinking the sprinklers on the pitch until Chris Martin carried it off to the dug out.

  2. MISSED PENALTY: Jerry Yates (Blackpool)published at 16:11 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Blackpool 0-0 Swansea

The home side have a great chance to take the lead but they can't take it!

Kenny Dougall is felled in the area but Andy Fisher saves Jerry Yates' penalty with his feet.

    Wigan Athletic 0-1 Bristol City

Leam Richardson has made one change to his Wigan side at the break and perhaps unsurprisingly he's taken Joe Bennett off, who was on a yellow card after that incident with Joe Williams.

Thelo Aasgaard has come on in his place.

I can't believe what I'm seeing. The Reading goalkeeper Joe Lumley is on for the second half. What's the point in having another keeper on the bench if it's not for times like this?

What a difference an hour makes...

Reading boss Paul Ince was in an upbeat mood before kick off at the New York Stadium.

His charges are 4-0 down at Rotherham with 45 minutes to play.

    Wigan Athletic 0-1 Bristol City

It's easy to see sometimes how Bristol City have conceded the most goals of any team in the league so far.

Their shaky defence almost catches them out again as they gift Wigan a chance 10 seconds before half-time.

Josh Magennis somehow gets through into one-on-one with keeper Dan Bentley, but thankfully for Bristol City's sake he sends his effort wide.

    Rotheram 4-0 Reading

    Tim Dellor

Another poor decision from the goalkeeper Lumley.

That's two of the goals, just long balls over the top, that have beaten the back four, and then the keeper.

If Lumley was an outfield player he would've been dragged off by now.

  12. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 4-0 Readingpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Chiedozie Ogbene (45 mins)

    Four? Four nil?! That's insane.

Republic of Ireland international Chiedozie Ogbene makes it 4-0 to the home side with a neat finish after rounding Royals goalkeeper Joe Lumley.

I said before the game this could be a relegation six-pointer. At this rate it could be a six-niller.

  13. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Wigan Athletic 0-1 Bristol City

Bristol City almost double their lead right before half-time, as Mark Sykes picks out Tommy Conway with a long ball.

Conway's effort finds the side netting, however, and it stays precariously 1-0 with the break approaching.

  14. goal

GOAL: Hull City 1-0 Norwichpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Oscar Estupinan (43 mins)

    Oh dear.

Norwich get themselves in a right old mess at the back and the ball breaks for Oscar Estupinan to sweep home his first goal in English football.

  15. goal

Some way to mark your full league debut.

    Ellis Simms (40 mins)

First Ross Stewart, now Ellis Simms.

Their partnership up front is already looking formidable as Simms gets his third goal of the season and his first at the Stadium of Light.

The ball breaks to him the centre of the goal and he calmly toe-pokes it straight into the net.

  17. League One updatepublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

Portsmouth’s Colby Bishop has put his side ahead at home to Cheltenham – who lost their EFL Cup game 7-0 during midweek.

Finn Azaz has put Plymouth ahead over Peterborough and Morecambe lead Fleetwood.

  18. goal

GOAL: Millwall 1-2 Coventry Citypublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Jake Cooper (36 mins)

Safe to say that's exactly what Millwall needed, who are right back in this fixture thanks to Jake Cooper.

Scott Malone fires in a free-kick which Cooper jumps high for and heads into the goal, to half the Lions' deficit.

They would have been chomping at the bit and they have really come out of the traps.

The Sky Blues didn't play last weekend due to the condition of their home pitch - and their next home game on Tuesday has also been postponed.

  20. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 1-0 QPRpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Ross Stewart (31 mins)

Sunderland's dream start to their Championship campaign continues as Ross Stewart puts them ahead against QPR.

Stewart fired in 26 goals last season and he's finally opened his account this time around, tapping in from close range.
