It's been a fairly understated first 20 minutes or so in Sandwell.

But those two Albion near misses - followed by Burnley's close effort at the other end - have got the crowd going a bit.

The Hawthorns volume control has definitely gone up a notch.

It's end to end stuff now.

Nathan Tella sprints towards the edge of the box and unleashes a fierce shot which flies inches wide.

That would have been an absolute beauty from the Burnley forward.

West Brom go close twice inside a minute!

First Conor Townsend sneaks in at the far post and volleys a high, looping cross towards goal but Arijanet Muric gets down well to palm the ball wide.

From the resulting corner Kyle Bartley heads against the top of the crossbar. Burnley survive.

Burnley win a free-kick on the right-hand side of the box which Josh Brownhill whips in. Vitinho is unmarked but heads over.

The Brazilian is flagged offside anyway. Moments later Jay Rodriguez nods a cross straight at David Button.

Burnley are working their way into the game.

Sloppy defending from Ian Maatsen sees his poor pass picked up by West Brom forward Karlan Grant and he bursts towards goal.

But a Burnley defender throws his body in the way and blocks Grant's shot. Burnley haven't got going yet.

West Brom have drawn five of their opening seven matches.

Baggies fans have been frustrated they haven't turned a couple more of those into wins, but a victory tonight will give them some much-needed momentum heading into the autumn.

Burnley will be tough to break down though.

I know it's still early in the season, but a win this evening will take Burnley to the top of the Championship table.

Vincent Kompany's side will be expected to stay up and around that end of the table for the rest of the campaign too.
