Livingston manager David Martindale: "I was largely happy with how the Rangers game went but we know Dundee United will be a threat, so we need to be solid.

"I'm a big believer, barring tactical changes, that there's a way in and out of the team."

"Our first seven fixtures are very difficult but it's a marathon not a sprint, so I don't get too caught up in that. I just try to take every game in isolation."

Dundee United head coach Jack Ross tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound: "There's no point in producing the kind of performance we did on Thursday and not carrying it in today.

"As always, we need to produce a performance that gives us energy from the stands. We've tried to bring a little bit of extra energy to the team.

Joel Nouble scored a great early goal against Rangers last weekend and caused the Ibrox side a few more problems with his powerful running and deft touches.

Though Dundee United enjoyed a memorable European victory over AZ on Thursday, they are yet to get their first three points in this season's Scottish Premiership.

Jack Ross' side opened the new league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock last weekend before opening up a 1-0 lead against their Europa Conference League third qualifying round opponents on Thursday.

The second leg of that tie is on Thursday but there's business to be taken care of on Tayside this afternoon.

Livingston, for more than an hour, looked set to take points off Rangers in last Saturday's encounter in West Lothian but ultimately succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.

Last season, Livi had the better of last season's meetings with two wins and a draw from the three encounters.

The Dundee United players looked in relaxed mood as they arrived at Tannadice earlier.

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson tells BBC Sportsound: "We're devastated not to get the three points which I think we merited. We dominated the game throughout except the opening 10-15 minutes but then we had total control and had a number of chances to get that second or third goal and we didn't take it and we've paid the price.

"I thought our forwards were exceptional today. We created a lot of chances, there is still a lot of sharpness to come from them all but as we go along, we will see a lot more from them.

"Even towards the end of the game we were still creating chances and that is the pleasing thing for me. We didn't just sit in, we came away from home, to Easter Road and dominated and deserve a lot of plaudits today.

"We should've just been over the line but we didn't do it."

Hibernian manager Lee Johnson tells BBC Sportsound: "A great match in terms of understanding more and more about the division. Despite the scoreline, I felt the first half was better for us, Hearts managed and controlled the second half more than I would've liked.

"We were really brave as a team with tactics and substitutions. Putting Martin Boyle on for that long was a bit of a risk but we know what he can do and he's popped up at the right time with a Roy of the Rovers type stuff return!

"We will get better, more cohesive and people will understand each others runs a bit more. It was important we didn't lose the game and with five minutes injury time to go, 1-0 down, that feels a like a victory."

Dundee United make three changes following Thursday's European heroics with Ross Graham, Scott McMann and Jamie McGrath starting in place of Charlie Mulgrew, Kieran Freeman and Ian Harkes.

Freeman makes the bench but Mulgrew and Harkes miss out altogether.

Just the one change for Livingston with Cristian Montano taking over from Phillip Cancar.
