A fairly uneventful first half ended up blossoming into a pretty decent second period as Dean Smith's Canaries freed themselves from their cage.

Josh Sargent's classy double ensured back-to-back wins for Norwich and continued Millwall's long-standing struggles on the road.

Canaries midfielder Kieran Dowell, who set up Josh Sargent's second goal, also spoke to Sky Sports:

"After a slow start, we're probably getting the points our performances deserve. It's been a great week for us with the last two games.

"I think in the games we didn't win we played well but just didn't take our chances so we had to keep doing the right things so the goals would come like they did today.

"It's nice to get a few wins on the board and then you start looking up the table after being down at the bottom after the first couple of games."

"Two good results for the boys and I'm happy to get on the scoresheet again.

"Everybody knows Teemu's reputation around here but I think I've definitely made the most of my opportunity.

Back-to-back wins for Norwich - and a first clean sheet of the season to boot.

Two excellent finishes from Josh Sargent - preferred to the fit-again Teemu Pukki up front - secure a deserved win for the Canaries, who controlled matters throughout.

Millwall made a game of it but it took them to go 2-0 down to produce their best spell of the match as substitute Andreas Voglsammer rattled the bar and Benik Afobe also went close.

Norwich began the evening 17th but actually leapfrog Millwall into fifth. The Lions slip to seventh in the early-season standings.

Norwich seek a third goal on the counter but Aaron Ramsey is hauled down just inside the Millwall half by Shaun Hutchinson.

Norwich keeper Tim Krul picks up a needless booking for timewasting.

Millwall came from 2-0 down in stoppage time in midweek - albeit courtesy of two own goals at Swansea. Can't see it happening again.

Millwall's mood will not be helped by the referee's latest decision, to penalise Murray Wallace for a foul on Kenny McLean from a Lions long throw.

The 90 minutes are almost up.

Millwall boss Gary Rowett is not a happy man, chuntering away on the touchline.

He was spoken to by the referee in the aftermath of Norwich's second goal with the Lions adamant it should have been ruled out for a foul by Josh Sargent on Scott Malone in the build-up.

It was definitely a coming-together.

Jake Cooper on for Danny McNamara for Millwall.

And there's brief run-out for Teemu Pukki as Norwich ease him back from a foot injury. He replaces Norwich's two-goal hero Josh Sargent.

A reader messaged in during the first half to say Millwall would start playing at 2-0 down (after coming back from that deficit in their past two games).

He was right. They've left it too late, surely although if that Voglsammer strike had gone in, it might have been a different matter.

Oh my goodness, Andreas Voglsammer.

The Millwall sub lets fly from at least 25 yards, maybe more.

It's a bullet but Tim Krul gets the faintest of fingertips to touch it on to the bar. Anywhere other than straight at the keeper and that would have been tough to stop.

That could be Millwall's best chance come and gone.

Danny McNamara has the space of the right hand side but cannot pick out a team-mate and Andrew Omobamidele clears from a corner.

Murray Wallace rises high to win the header from the deep delivery and Benik Afobe flicks out a leg about four yards out but can only divert it over the bar.

Double change for Norwich, who are hoping this one is in the books.

Villa loanee Aaron Ramsey and Todd Cantwell replace Onel Hernandez and Kieran Dowell.
