  1. 'Rangers v PSV is 50-50'published at 15:58 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

Ronald de Boer told BBC Scotland he can't pick a favourite between his former club Rangers and PSV Eindhoven ahead of their Champions League play-off first leg on Tuesday.

He said: "PSV have bought some very good players, they have integrated very well. Luuk de Jong showed in the dying seconds against Monaco what a vital player he can be. The team looks good and a very good result against a good team in Monaco.

"I must say they were quite lucky in the two games [against Monaco]. But PSV have weapons - they can score from set pieces, they have great players like Joey Veerman and Ibrahim Sangare in the midfield. So they can grind victories also even if they don't play very well.

"I hope of course as an ex-Rangers player that they go through, but I think it's really a 50-50, I can't put my finer on who is the favourites."

De Boer also says he was surprised at the scoreline between AZ Alkmaar and Dundee United, with the Ditch side winning 7-1 on aggregate after losing the first leg at Tannadice 1-0.

"We were all surprised that Alkmaar were capable of doing so," he said. "They have a good, young team, a talented coach and talented players, but nobody thought they would get the giant score that they did.

"European-wise, Holland is doing very well at the moment and that's different than in previous years. I think the Dutch league is getting stronger."

  8. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 1-1 Motherwellpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

Motherwell will be frustrated to be level at half-time. They've been the better team, had the better chances, but Blair Spittal's opener is the only goal they've had for their efforts.

Aberdeen have not really got going. But they did have an early chance from Bojan Miovski that the North Macedonian should have scored. He made amends when he found the target with a header from a Liam Scales cross, and it's all square at the break.

  9. HALF-TIME Livingston 1-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

A magnificent first-half performance from Livingston.

Led from the front by Joel Nouble, who took his goal so well and so easily could have had another were it not for the outstretched hand of David Marshall.

Martindale's midfield have hunted in packs before creeping forward to put pressure on the Hibs goal.

The visitors, meanwhile, have had one shot at goal - a tame header from Christian Doidge. Lee Johnson's side are wilting in the West Lothian heat.

    St Mirren 0-0 Ross County

Ross County are beginning to grow into the game.

Josh Sims drives from his own half to the edge of the St Mirren box before he slides in Owura Edwards.

His shot however is mishit, and the subsequent corner is to no avail for the away side.

    Malik Tillman

Malik Tillman will be gathering a reputation for kangaroo-style leaps at the back post as the on-loan Bayern Munich midfielder heads Rangers into the lead off the underside of the crossbar.

St Johnstone have been denying Rangers any clear-cut chances but concede a corner as goalkeeper Remi Matthews palms clear John Lundstram's long-ranger.

The English midfielder's effort is Rangers first on target, but the second follows as Tillman rises to apply the killer touch to a James Tavernier cross in similar fashion to Tuesday's Champions League qualifying goal.
