  1. Motherwell sign goalkeeper Oxboroughpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

As mentioned, goalkeeper Aston Oxborough has joined Motherwell on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old makes the move to Fir Park after 14 years at Norwich City.

Oxborough was signed by previous manager Graham Alexander, but international clearance was only granted this week.

He goes into the squad for the visit to Aberdeen, with Scott Fox filling in as temporary goalkeeper coach after the departure of Andy Dibble.

“This is a really good club full of good people,” Oxborough told the Motherwell website. “I’m excited to be here and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”

  2. Clarkson starts for Aberdeen, Oxborough on bench for Motherwellpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

Aberdeen make just one change from their 4-1 victory over St Mirren, and it's an enforced one with Hayden Coulson injured, although it isn't as bad as first feared.

Callum Roberts, though, is due to be up for up to 10 weeks following his injury in the same game.

Liverpool loanee Leighton Clarkson impressed from the bench when he made an earlier than expected debut, topped off by a stunning long-range strike, and he earns his first start in the Dons midfield.

Jack Mackenzie has recovered from injury after missing most of pre-season and being unable to make an appearance so far, and the young left-back is on the bench. And Shayden Morris could make his debut after being named on the bench for the first time.

Motherwell have completed the signing of goalkeeper Aston Oxborough, and he is named as a substitute.

New Fir Park manager Steven Hammell makes two changes from the 2-1 defeat by St Johnstone.

Midfielders Dean Cornelius and Callum Slattery make the starting line-up, with Barry Maguire and Josh Morris dropping to the bench.

  3. Kent missing as Davies startspublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 13 August 2022

    Rangers v St Johnstone (15:00)

Winger Ryan Kent misses out as Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst rings the changes after Tuesday's Champions League qualifying victory over Union Saint Gilloise against an unchanged St Johnstone.

Kent had been an injury doubt ahead of the 3-0 win over the Belgians and the wide attacking roles this time go to Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright.

Ben Davies, the centre-half signed from Liverpool this summer, also comes into the side to make his first start and the injured replaces James Sands.

Ryan Jack comes into central midfield, with Scott Arfield and Tom Lawrence on the bench.

Perhaps not surprisingly, visiting manager Callum Davidson sticks with the XI that started last weekend's 2-1 win away to Motherwell.
