Robbie Neilson also addresses reports suggesting that winger Jos Ginnelly's future at Hearts may be in doubt.
"I don't think we can lose any players at the moment," the manager tells BBC Scotland. We actually have to add to the squad never mind taking away
"Josh will be a big part of this squad. He is probably different from the majority of players we've got in that he's got blistering pace and we'll need that in some games."
Neilson points out that "I hope he's unhappy" at only being on the bench but says all players must "take that opportunity when it comes".

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson is expecting "a reaction, aggression and energy" from today's visitors following United's 7-0 thumping by AZ on Thursday.
He has replaced Peter Haring with Cammy Devlin in midfield from the side that started last weekend's Edinburgh derby draw and explains that: "I just want to bring a bit more energy into the team."
However, with Hearts visiting Zurich in Thursday's Europa League play-off, he also stresses to BBC Scotland that "we have to start using the squad".
Despite that European "big game" on the horizon, Neilson adds that "all eyes are on today".

Dundee United head coach Jack Ross reveals that influential midfielder Dylan Levitt misses out with an injury picked up in Thursday's Europa Conference League hammering by AZ.
But he tells BBC Scotland that "hopefully it's nothing too serious" for the 21-year-old Wales international who has been so impressive since arriving from Manchester United, initially on loan last season and this summer on a permanent deal.

Dundee United head coach Jack Ross tells BBC Scotland he has "trust in my players" to recover from Thursday's 7-0 hammering by AZ Alkmaar as they are "a tough and resilient" group.
"Any negativity or criticism you get, it can either make you doubt yourself or get you motivated to put things right and that's how we need to be today," the Ross says.
"We can't affect anything that went on before. We can only affect what lies ahead of us.
"I don't want to be flippant about it. We obviously reflect on what has gone before in games to try to make things better, but the energy has all been about today's performance.
"They are bruised and sore at the moment - we all are - but if we win today, we are on the road to putting that right."

FT: Kilmarnock 0-5 Celtic
Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "We talked about the importance of the start of the game. I do think that first goal is self-inflicted. It felt like a gimme, and it lifts them. You don't need to give them any encouragement to play their football.
"Celtic controlled the game as we expected but when the ball arrived in our box, it was nothing to do with their level of player. It was the type of goal we shouldn't be losing and three or four of the goals are avoidable.
"We're not ready to take on Celtic yet but we are better than what we showed today, certainly with our defending.
"We've got to make sure there's no hangover from this, but we need to improve quickly in terms of showing more resolve, more resilience, more willingness to keep the ball out of our net. Particularly from set plays, it's not good enough."
FT: Kilmarnock 0-5 Celtic
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou tells BBC Scotland: [On the surface] "I still think it affects the game but it's about your mindset. We knew that was one of our challenges today, along with it being a hot day to try and play the football we want to. The boys' attitude was first rate.
"It was a great start for us. Last week we scored late and we said we want to wear teams down. That doesn't discount the fact we want to start strong and put teams away early. All our goals were really good goals today.
[On Carl Starfelt] "He's worked really hard in rehab to get himself back in the frame. In all our games so far, the subs have made a massive impact and that's something we need to keep up. We've got the luxury of one game a week at the moment but pretty soon that won't be the case and we need more than XI players to be ready to go.
"I'm just holding back the tide at the moment. Once the games start, they'll all play. If we want to maintain our intensity and drive, we're going to need all the boys ready to go."
