Spurs boss Antonio Conte speaking to Match of the Day: "In the first half, they caused us some problems. They did not have big chances to score but they were more dangerous than us. We dominated the second half and had chances to score many goals. Playing against Wolverhampton is not easy - they are an important team with really good players.

"We were good defensively though in the first half and in the second half I was really pleased that we pressed high and covered the right space. Don’t forget last season we lost against Wolves and Southampton and Chelsea. This season from those games we now have seven points and this gives us confidence.

"I have a group of players with a good chemistry in the dressing room, between them, between us, and I think this is very important."

On Harry Kane scoring his 250th goal for Tottenham: “You know how important Harry is for us. I’m really pleased to see him score, especially when he helps the team. We are talking about a world class striker. With ball, we know all about his skill and ability but he also presses and works really hard."

On Ivan Perisic's first start for Spurs: "Like the rest of the team, he struggled a bit in the first half. In the second half, I saw the Perisic I know from Inter."

Wolves

Wolves boss Bruno Lage speaking to BT Sport: "The start was there. Since the first minute we came with a big personality and surprised Tottenham with the way we controlled the game without the ball. We created some chances and the result was unfair at half-time.

"The boys are here. Goncalo [Guedes] is here a week and Matheus [Nunes] a couple of days. They worked and did what I wanted them to do. We know the way we want to play and we know our direction.

"When I talk about patience it is about the players. Two or three weeks ago we did not expect these types of players to arrive. In a perfect world, we'd have had all the players we wanted on the first day of pre-season.

"I want more performances like that and for sure more goals."

Everton started brightly but, such is their brittle confidence, the hosts looked troubled when put under some pressure and they - as well as the crowd - seemed a little nervy by the time the half-time whistle was blown.

Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray have been the home side's bright sparks. The marauding Neco Williams - rabona included - the biggest threat for the visitors on the right.

Not many great chances in the game. Everton seem to sit off Nottingham Forest a bit too much for Frank Lampard's liking when they can go and press them.

When Forest get on the ball, they are decent and create opportunities.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham forward Harry Kane speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Obviously it's a nice achievement (250 goals for Spurs) to have and it's always better when you win the game. In the second half we came with a real intensity and got the goal. We switched formation a bit in the way we wanted to press because we weren't able to get close enough in the first half.

"We worked really hard in pre-season and knew we could get stronger as the game went on which is what happened.

"You are going to miss chances you just have to be ready for the next one. From corners I feel like we have worked a lot and I just had to be ready for next opportunity."

A cracking game at Craven Cottage too, with Fulham edging ahead.

What an entertaining first half at Selhurst Park, but it is all square at the break.

No goals here either.

Everton sought a quick start, but after weathering the mini storm, Forest have given as good as they have got.

Pretty dire stuff.

Leicester have looked marginally the more dangerous, but the two keepers have had precious little to deal with.

First few murmurs of discontent from the home fans. Forest are making things uncomfortable for Everton and threatening to open them up. There is still enough optimism and encouragement around the place, but an away goal could make this ground turn.

End to end action at Selhurst Park.

Matty Cash makes a run down the right and finds Emiliano Buendia in the box, the Argentine catches it beautifully first time, but the shot is straight at VIcente Guaita.

Now Wilfried Zaha showing his better side, spinning away from his defender and finding Jordan Ayew at the far edge of the box.

He decides to take it first time, but a low shot is pushed away by Emiliano Martinez.

Rezaa: Anthony Gordon's value must have dropped by 20mil during the first 20 minutes of this game alone. Abysmal.

It has gone a bit flat here now.

Forest have done a good job of keeping Everton at bay while showing little flashes of threat at the other end.

Chance!

Romeo Lavia gives the ball away and it allows City to drive forward. Harvey Barnes gets to the edge of the box but drags his angled shot past the far post.

Got to keep his cool.

Wilfried Zaha has been kicked from pillar to post and then loses his head, going in hard on John McGinn and getting a yellow card for the challenge.
