  1. Big day for Stansfieldpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    Fulham v Brentford (15:00 BST)

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Craven Cottage

A huge day for the name at the very bottom of Fulham’s squad list.

Number 65 Jay Stansfield makes his first Premier League start. His dad, Adam - a former striker himself - died 12 years ago this month. It’ll be a hugely emotional occasion if Jay scores his first top-flight goal here.

    Fulham v Brentford (15:00 BST)

    Fulham

Fulham are on a run of 24 Premier League London derbies without a win (D5 L19) since a 2-1 home win over West Ham United in January 2014.

In top-flight history, only Crystal Palace between August 1969 and March 1973 (31 games) have had a longer run of London derbies without a win.

  3. Sutton's predictionpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    Fulham v Brentford (15:00 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

I really like what Brentford are doing, and I almost made the prediction of the century when I said they would beat United 3-0 last week. I was so unlucky that they actually scored four.

Fulham will have a real go at them, like they did against Liverpool in their last home game, so this is a much bigger test than United offered and it should be a good game.

It will be close, too. The Cottagers have drawn both their games so far, and I can see the points being shared again.

    GK's prediction: 1-0

Everton v Nottingham Forest (15:00 BST)

    Shaun Wright-Phillips
Former Man City winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The City Ground is an unbelievable place. The only problem I see for them is how they gel together that group of mass signings in such a congested season.

How are you going to get them playing like you need to stay up? Nottingham Forest are a massive club and I hope they stay up but it is going to be tough.

  5. £50m good business for Gordon?published at 14:43 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

Everton v Nottingham Forest (15:00 BST)

    Chris Latchem
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

Chatting to Evertonians around Goodison this afternoon there aren't many compelling their club to hold on to Anthony Gordon. While they like him - a lot, I get the feeling they reckon £50m (if they can get that from Chelsea) could be better used pumping up the tyres of a squad that looks a little thin.

That said - they are desperate to end the losing start to the new season today.

  7. Alli has to 'look in the mirror'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    Don Hutchison
Ex-Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I look at Dele Alli and you can't pin it on Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo or Frank Lampard. At some point you have to look in the mirror.

He's 26 and there's a chance he could come back but I watch him and he looks as though he has fallen out of love with football. That flicker has just gone.

  8. 'We have a lot to work on'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

    Wolves

New Wolves signing Matheus Nunes after making his debut, speaking to BBC Sport: "I had good sensations and it was good to play my first game but the result wasn’t the best. In the first half, we had good chances to score and even in the second half it was balanced. They had more chances but that's because we were more up the field trying to take a risk to score. The result is what it is.

On how he is settling in at Molineux among a dozen of his countrymen: "They have made me feel very welcome. It's just like being in Portugal because I have a lot of Portuguese team-mates. It feels very good but there's still a lot of the championship to go. It's only the third game and we have a lot to work on."

  9. 'Forest fans can be 12th man'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

Everton v Nottingham Forest (15:00 BST)

    Darren Fletcher
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

Nottingham Forest will survive based on what they do at the City Ground. It is why they went so far in the FA Cup last season. If any of those games against Premier League teams had been on the road they'd have gone out earlier.

Anything they pick up on the road this season will be a bonus for them. I think they feel that with the feel and kind of atmosphere you get in the City Ground it can be a 12th man for them.

  10. 'I always love scoring'published at 14:36 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham striker Harry Kane to BT Sport: "Credit to Wolves, they made it difficult. In the second half we came out with intensity. We created chances and pressed better. We deserved the goal. We didn’t create too many chances after that but neither did they."

On scoring more Premier League goals for one club than anybody else: "It's been a fantastic nine or 10 years in the Premier League. Hopefully many more years to go. I always love scoring.

"The most important thing is winning games. Credit to the boys, they dug deep. We need to start games better. We need to improve. But the sign of a good team is winning when you don't play at your best."

Amadou Onana may grace the programme cover at Goodison Park today but Everton’s summer arrival starts on the bench.

The Belgium midfielder made an impact when he came on at Villa Park last weekend, playing his part in the Toffees’ goal despite the game ultimately ending in a 2-1 defeat, and Frank Lampard will be looking for a similar cameo from his new boy today.

  13. Sutton's predictionpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

Everton v Nottingham Forest (15:00 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

I get how important Nottingham Forest's win over West Ham was, given the number of new signings they have made, but I actually felt the Hammers should have got something from the game.

Everton badly need a similar result to kick-start their season, but I don't think they are playing that badly.

The Toffees are still missing a proper centre-forward, but they looked much better against Villa when new signing Amadou Onana came on.

I fancy them here, especially because they are at home.

    John Southall

Tottenham had to work hard for this significant win, they were poor in the first half. Antonio Conte had some words at half time and they became a different beast in the second half. Wolves missed chances and that cost them.

Bit of a grind that one, Phil Dawkes needs a cuppa after that.

Tottenham won't mind though, they go top of the table but let's hope the 3pm games bring a bit more entertainment.
