It's so tight. Jordan Henderson misplaces a pass and Martial just doesn't play the pass quickly enough. Rashford's left foot - is it ahead?

Phil: The absolute worst possible move Ten Hag could make right now would be to bring on Ronaldo. He would suck the momentum and pace out of the attack.
Joe: Man Utd aren’t even playing well. Good first 15-20 but then Liverpool been on top completely, but again we just can’t get through. Missing our injured players, and first time I’ve felt that we’re missing Mane. Get Fabinho on.

Rob: Utd are up for this! Liverpool haven't started this season yet. Players all need to wake up and start pressing more, speed up their play and make sure their passes land at the right feet. Liverpool are better than this.
Spence: Absolutely abysmal from Liverpool, Milner, Bobby and Elliott off asap!

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane on Sky Sports: "United are at it. They have gone back to basics, been aggressive and they were stretching Liverpool. They look fresh, sharp and the manager will be delighted.
"The goal was coming and they were stretching Liverpool. There were gaps everywhere, it made Liverpool look average.
"For a player who has not been playing that well Jadon Sancho showed great composure [to score]. [Bruno] Fernandes has been brilliant. In possession they have shown great quality. I think Virgil van Dijk has been sloppy this season. He has not moved his feet."

Terry: Martinez man of the match so far. Manchester United's wingers are too far away from the midfielders. I hope Ten hag will take note. Eriksen have been anonymous save for his free kick. Van de Beek for him and Ronaldo for Rashford.

Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live
It was a brilliant first-half performance from United, with craft and energy. Rashford stretched Liverpool; Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes played some great balls in.
Elanga combined with Sancho and it was a great finish, to show that composure. Elanga also hit the post and it looked like United were going to go on and get a second but full credit to Liverpool, who started to push United back.
The worry for United is their legs: can they keep it going? They could make some changes to keep that tempo. Their energy levels have created so many opportunities.
United had a big stroke of fortune from Milner's set-piece. We mentioned how Varane and Martinez might cope with that aerial threat and Milner just ghosted it in there. They were very fortunate after Fernandes sliced it and got away with one.
Now we'll see how United react. The supporters, the directors' box, the players - the relief was on their faces after that first-half performance because they felt they were right up against it.
