Dan: Take nothing away from United, who have been genuinely great this half, but anyone of a Liverpool persuasion should be pretty concerned by this start to the season.

Cam: Right now it looks like Ten Hag and United needed the horror showing last week to give them some grounding. So pleased with the effort after the heads dropped last week. Just worried what happens if we concede. Can the players keep their heads?

Excellent keeping from Alisson on this occasion, sharply off his line to knock the ball out of play.

That came over Trent Alexander-Arnold's head again.

Eriksen has played some great balls in already. Manchester United are having all the pressure and Elanga made a wonderful run when Alexander-Arnold was booked for challenging him.

It's good of them to finally have a run around. It's a great contrast and that's what Manchester United are looking for. Us ex-pros and pundits talk about that being the minimum expectation. Maybe the choice of the players gives them the freedom to do that.

It's been a wonderful start with some great football and great tackles. Liverpool have got to find a way because it's been all Manchester United.

    They are indeed rattled.

Alisson and Harvey Elliott get in a tangle at the back and the Liverpool keeper side-foots it out of play.

Liverpool recycle the corner back to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who lumps it straight out for a goal kick.

    Jurgen's rattled Reds?

Luis Diaz in the box, standing up Diogo Dalot and shifting it, but the Portugal international is equal to it and the away side have their first corner of the game.

Jude: When will people accept that TAA is a fantastic passer of the ball but a dreadful defender.

Sam: Firmino isn't exactly the strongest or tallest I can't see them getting goals through him. Get Milner off it's pointless having him in this Liverpool team other than pep talks.

There was a bit of afters between Milner and Van Dijk following the goal. Sancho has got three or four seconds inside the box to pick where he's going to shoot - and Van Dijk is just stood with his arms behind his back.

This is so unlike Van Dijk, who's normally so dominant and reads the game so well. Sancho was in acres of space.

Milner got sat down in the box but Van Dijk just stands there. It's such strange defending. We all know Van Dijk has had his injuries and Liverpool are way better with him; he's a world-class defender but it's so strange to see.

Bruno Fernandes dawdling on the ball is picked off by Jordan Henderson.

The move eventually comes back to the Liverpool skipper on the edge of the box but he volleys side.

Liverpool's best opening of the game so far.

Adam: Spend some money FSG.. Klopp is a genius, but even he will struggle to get top four with this squad. Wake up and realise what's happening in front of your very eyes.

Imy: Can someone call Liverpool and tell them they're running late for the game.

Before the goal, the run from Rashford down the right hand side was really, really good. He was looking for Elanga and I thought, 'why's he not going for it?'

They circled the ball around again and Eriksen showed a bit of composure. Once Sancho got in to that area, under pressure.

You say United aren't sure of the team and formation with a few changes but they look very, very slick. They look like they've been doing that for such a long time - and long may that continue.

    What a save!!

Christian Eriksen tries to whip one in to the far corner but Alisson leaps high to tip the ball wide. It was going in that.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 24 mins

Liverpool have just not got a grip on this game.

Anthony Elanga runs directly at Joe Gomez, like a rugby league hooker, and is chopped down by Trent Alexander-Arnold from behind.

    The weakness?

A booking for the full-back too.

Herschell: Please pundits and listeners, don't get carried away. Liverpool are winning this all day long.

CH: I haven't seen Liverpool play this poorly under Klopp. They don't look like scoring but they could have conceded three or four already.

United players are actually running and pressing the Liverpool players.

Erik ten Hag did say effort what the bare minimum required.

Meanwhile, James Milner is struggling in this game, stretching to try and keep the ball in play but unsuccessful in his attempt.
