    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

Manchester United are comfortable but they haven't capitalised on some of the opportunities they have had.

Marcus Rashford's poor pass is the latest example of a chance to get in going astray. Wilfred Ndidi intercepts and clears.

Odion: Elanga is offering nothing to this team, can't wait for Anthony to start.

Sons of Punjab: I'm not convinced by Elanga, he just seems to lose the ball every time it comes to him. It was the same story on Saturday.

What have Leicester got in them to alter this game? They need to be much, much better or Manchester United are going to cruise another 45.

    We are back under way.

This United squad looks completely refreshed after one transfer window. Out with older players like Mata, Cavani and Matic. Out with the egos of Pogba and Lingard. Moved on some deadwood and youngsters who don't look the standard. In comes keen, talented new players with better attitudes and work ethic.

    Neil, Cardiff

I've been a United fan for years now. I remember the bad old days of Moyes. This is a new era, full of hope and aspirational ideas. Long may it continue.

Jadon Sancho is improving. I still don't think he has reached the heights that he did at Dortmund. I don't think he is finding it as easy in the Premier League but we are starting to see end product and the effect he is having in games. Some just take a little time to settle in, but I do think he is improving, month by month.

Why does Rodgers persist in playing midfielders at centre half!? Amartey and now Ndidi. He has two international centre halves he could pick instead - Soyuncu on the bench and Vestergaard not even in the squad.

    Andrew, London

I still maintain that this year's relegation fight will be the most exciting we've ever seen. So many utterly abysmal teams in the league this year.

    Dan, London

I wonder if Rodgers will be under as much scrutiny and pressure as Gerrard or Lampard would be in the same situation? Potentially 1 point from first 5 games and bottom of the table...

No more big Premier League deals to tell you about on this final day of the transfer window.

However, there are still things brewing.

I think Manchester United deserve to be leading. They dominated this game for half-an-hour. They played at their own tempo and Leicester were struggling to keep up. Whether it was Leicester stepping up their game or Manchester United getting sloppy, or a little bit of both, it became a lot more even in the last 15 minutes. Probably a fair scoreline.

JJ: I'm sure Rashford would rather be out wide but ETH has played him CF and he's doing his bit for the team, I don't get the hate at all.

John: Glad to see Sancho playing as we know he can. How many times do you see players coming into their own in the second year?

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

The half ends with Harvey Barnes seeing another cross headed away.

The whistle is greeted with a low murmur and some boos.

It is a restless home crowd. Jadon Sancho's goal is the difference.

  11. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

Harvey Barnes tries to get his side going, but after a really good driving run to the byline, he slices his cross high and over everyone in the box.

Better, but still not good enough to put United under any real threat.

John Petrie: Glad to see Sancho playing as we know he can. How many times do you see players coming into their own in the second year?

Stuart Mitchell: Trophy/top4 would be nice. Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and City are the most likely this season, but it's possible. So long as Man Utd are competitive in every game and show the heart and desire that's been missing for a while, i'll be happy this season with whatever happens.

James Maddison whips the free-kick into a decent area at the near post but Manchester United deal with it well.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    This sparks some noise.

Tyrell Malacia is adjudged to have taken down James Justin and picks up a yellow card. He won the ball, but stuck his arm out.

I wouldn't say this first-half performance from Leicester has been worrying as such, but they have lost to Chelsea, Southampton and Arsenal. There have been mitigating factors , but they do need to get themselves up and running sooner rather than later.

Paul: What has happened to Leicester? They’re awful now! Won’t be long before Maddison wants out as well if this is what they are now. Not threatening at all.

The Turbo Bear: If Leicester maintain their current form, better teams will just absolutely and utterly wipe them off. Imagine them coming up against Man City on current form. Would be 25-0.

  17. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

Manchester United have kept Jamie Vardy very quiet so far. Leicester try to get him on the ball with an angled ball through the away defence, but out steps Raphael Varane to gather and clear.

If Harvey Barnes' shot had been on target it would have been a goal - David de Gea was rooted to the spot.

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

The only noise you can consistently hear in the ground is from the away end, where the United fans are enjoying themselves.

This home crowd is very flat. Their team is offering them little to get excited about, but they're doing nothing to try and help rally them.

Ikechukwu: United playing very well needs more consistency, realistically as a United fan I am targeting top 4 and maybe Europa League trophy. Can't wait to see how Anthony gets along with this squad.

Robin: Can’t wait to see Antony on the Left Wing. Elanga just isn’t offering enough there. A loan this window to a Prem side would’ve done him a world of good for his development.
