Celta Vig-woe. Iago Aspas cuts it back to Goncalo Paciencia, who shoots off the post from six yards out. The offside flag goes up - but a replay shows Aspas was probably onside so it would likely have been given by VAR had he scored.

Andy: Everton losing to United with a new manager and £220 million spent. DCL hasn’t started a game, joint fewest goals conceded and some still can’t wait to slate Lampard. He is no Guardiola but doing a decent job under the circumstances with what he has.

Now they have! And Iago Aspas should level really. The ball drops to him 10 yards out and his shot is saved down low by the leg of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

From the corner Hugo Mallo shoots wide.

Five minutes to go at 'the Spotify'.

Sergio Busquets booked now, of course.

  16. 'Didn't look like an Everton team to me in first half'published at 21:38 British Summer Time 9 October 2022

    Everton 1-2 Man Utd

    Everton

Everton boss Frank Lampard to BBC Sport: "[We should have] played better in the first half. We were off our usual standard. We weren't our usual selves in the first half. It didn’t look like an Everton team to me. We were a bit off.

"When you make clear mistakes Manchester United can punish you. It was a good reaction, good spirit but the first half was not enough against a team of that level.

"Sometimes we needed to put our foot on the ball and make some extra passes. Players have to make the decision to calm the game down. There can be an urgency to react.

"We’re a team who are building and putting things together so maybe a performance like that is understandable ater some of our games lately."

On the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin from injury: "He's a big player for us. I haven’t had enough of him. He’ll be the most frustrated one about that. It was a plus to get him on the pitch for 20 minutes. Another week of training will help him get more robust and match fit. It's nice to see him come on. We want and need him fit here."

  19. 'Stick to the plan'published at 21:34 British Summer Time 9 October 2022

    Everton 1-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to BBC Sport: "We wanted a reaction [from the Man City defeat]. We got it already in Cyprus and we had to finish this week good and we did. We develop as a team. We have steps to go. There's room for improvement but the first half was quite good. We controlled the game in and out of possession.

"I'm really happy. A long time since Man Utd came back from a setback with a goal to win the game. That's good for belief in this team that they can do it.

"Twice In three days we have to stay composed and stick to the plan and see what can happen. An unlucky situation can change a game but it can't change the plan. You still have to come back. That's what happened today and on Thursday.

"You never get everything [right in a game]. Footall is a game for mistakes. We had really good situations in the game. You could see the principles of how we want to play. We made a good goal out of transition twice.

"I was also happy with the subs coming and making an impact.

On Anthony Martial's injury: "We have to wait. I can’t diagnose. I don’t think it's that big a problem. He had an assist for the first goal. I'm happy with that. It was a setback for the team but Ronaldo came in and made the winning goal, I'm happy with that."

On whether anybody else will score 700 club goals: "It's difficult to say. It's clear to say it is a massive performance from the player. Congratulations to Cristiano .I'm happy for him. Also that was his first goal this season in the Premier League so it will help him to score more goals in the coming weeks.

"All 11 players have to bring it on the pitch. Resilience. Winning attitude. You have to do it with 11. The spirit of the team is quite good. We have to keep improving that."

    Barcelona 1-0 Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo have the ball in the net at the Nou Camp but it won't count!

Javi Galan is sent through down the left-hand side and his effort strikes the post and is then headed in at the back post by Jorgen Strand Larsen.

    Galan had strayed offside though.
