Mel: That has to be one of the most disappointing results and performances so far this season. United are woeful, yet we made them look good. Dreadful, and got what we deserved let's face it.

Everton

Everton boss Frank Lampard, speaking to BT Sport: "The game was lost in the first half from our point of view.

"It was a great start and in a way it made us a tiny bit passive. It was better in the second half and we showed a lot of spirit in the end.

"It was disappointing because we had been moving in the right direction. Manchester United had good possession and moved the ball well. There is a lot I can reflect on in the game but when you look at it in the cold light of day it was two of our mistakes that led to goals.

"I think Iwobi feels that from me. He plays at a really high level, did that from last season into this season. He is getting more goals and his performance was good."

Manchester United

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, speaking to BT Sport: "We were quickly 1-0 down but the reaction of the team was good. One of our aims is to deal better with setbacks and they stayed composed, played out of the game. It was quite impressive from our side.

"In the first half we were pressing well. Everton did not come out and it was difficult for them to get a lot of crosses in, we didn't allow them and I am happy with that.

"Casemiro will anticipate quickly and we saw during the game how important he is, winning a lot of balls. He also played the ball for Ronaldo. He grew into the game.

"Martial had a problem in his back, he was important. We were happy with all the subs, Ronaldo got the winning goal and Varane showed his importance with his organisation and heading capacity.

"The ball can always come in, we should have scored already for a third and then it was game over. That is the next step we have to make, happy with the result of course and also for a lot of periods happy with the performance.

"Goodison Park is difficult, the crowd behind but they are in a good run, seven games unbeaten."

Celta Vigo are doing most of the pressing in the second half at the Nou Camp.

Paul: Arsenal + Man Utd don’t do draws so far this season. Not one draw between them. Only difference is Arsenal have won eight out of nine whereas Man Utd have won five (but have a game in hand). Early in season but neither are doing badly for two clubs written off as finished not long ago.

"We conceded a goal from nothing but we played really well in the first half. In the last 20 minutes of the second half we could do a bit better but good to get back on the winning track.

"We want to show this spirit and togetherness, this is what made us win four games in a row and get this win."

On Ronaldo scoring his 700th club goal: "It is tough still counting goals for Ronaldo because every week seems like a new record.

"Really happy because he has been working hard to get this goal. Today he got the goal and the win and that is the most important for him, that the team won."

Barcelona are in the lead and heading back to the top of La Liga at half-time against Celta Vigo.

Pedri's three-yard tap-in, 17 minutes in, put them ahead. Celta Vigo have grown into the game but Barca are deservedly ahead at the break.

Everton drop a place with that defeat, down to 11th below Brentford. Liverpool remain 10th which means their record as the top Merseyside team stays intact for now...
