  1. 'Brentford will bounce back'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Brentford v Wolves (15:00 BST)

Chris Sutton's predictionsImage source, Getty Images

Both of these sides lost heavily last weekend but it is Brentford who I think will bounce back.

The Bees have been walloped on the road a couple of times now, but they are usually decent on their own patch.

After losing 5-1 at Newcastle a few weeks back they then beat Brighton and drew with Chelsea at home, and I'd expect them to respond with another good result this time.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1

  2. 'We had to suffer'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    FT: Leicester 0-1 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Sport: "When they attacked more it was a game, they decided they could play like we could play and they couldn't adjust.

"It is important not to get frustrated when you have problems to attack because it is so difficult. It was really complicated.

"A lot of credit to Leicester for what they have done but we did not get frustrated.

"When they changed the rhythm we could not change the rhythm. We had to suffer."

On match-winner Kevin de Bruyne's performance : "It's not about the assist that Kevin always has, or the free-kick. I know he has these qualities, the last few games it was not him,.

"He needs his dynamic, when he can move in different pockets. What can I say about Kevin? Everyone knows him."

On goalkeeper Ederson: "Tielemans scored a fantastic goal against Wolves last week and repeated it today. He make a fantastic shot and Eddy made an incredible save."

On when striker Erling Haaland will return: "I don't know. He has ligament damage. He feels better, we have one more week.

"He won't play against Sevilla because we've already qualified and hopefully against Fulham he can help us.

"If not he might play against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup."

  3. 'I haven't got a clue what to expect'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Bournemouth v Tottenham (15:00 BST)

Chris Sutton's predictionsImage source, Getty Images

I haven't got a clue what to expect from Tottenham at the moment.

I was at their draw with Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday but I don't know which side of Spurs we will see here - the team that toiled for most of the first half, or the one that ended the game so strongly and almost won it.

Bournemouth feel hard done by with the VAR decisions that went against them in their defeat by West Ham on Monday, but they have now lost two games on the bounce.

The Cherries need something here and with my record of predicting their results this season, it is probably good news for them that I am saying they will lose.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-1

  4. 'Conte good to his word'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Bournemouth v Tottenham (15:00 BST)

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at the Vitality Stadium

Antonio Conte has been good to his word. He hinted that he was prioritising Tottenham’s Champions League game next week against Marseille over this one at Bournemouth.

Bentancur and Dier are rested, and Romero isn’t in the squad at all. It’ll be interesting to see who sets the tone for Tottenham today from the deeper areas as that role has been primarily carried out by Romero and Bentancur this season.

  5. 'Chelsea do have a bit more quality'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Brighton v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

    Ashley Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

The clear and obvious thing with Brighton is they're not scoring. They are playing some great football, not too dissimilar to when Graham Potter was in charge. They play exciting football, they build up really well from the back, they are creating chances again. They're just not scoring.

Whereas I think Chelsea with the same Graham Potter influence where it's pleasing on the eye where they play really intelligent clever football, creative football but they do have a little bit more quality to put the ball into the back of the net.

I do think that today's game has a little bit of edge on it for obvious reasons, Graham Potter going back, not sure on the reception that's he'll get but I'm sure that both teams will want to win this game.

  6. 'We lacked belief'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Leicester City

    Brendan RodgersImage source, Getty Images

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to BT Sport: "The players carried out the gameplan as well as we could have asked them to. You have to still be in the game with 20 minutes to go. Defensively we were very, very good but we lacked belief at times and that let us down.

"We had good chances in the game and we were unfortunate not to nick something. You have to concede that you are playing arguably the best team in the world, they can play through you and around you.

"There are lots of elements we can be better in. But the spirit of the team and the mentality was we kept fighting."

  7. 'You know it has a chance when it goes over the wall'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    FT: Leicester 0-1 Man CIty

    Manchester City

Manchester City match-winner Kevin de Bruyne, speaking to BBC Sport: "I think Leicester have been playing that formation against us, it started a couple of years ago when they beat us at home 5-2.

"They're trying to frustrate us but we played well for 70 minutes. They changed it and the only mistake we made was that we tried to play in the defence. But overall I think we did really well."

On his goal: "When you shoot like that there is a lot of risk and you try to hit is clean as possible.

"You don't have much time to see it but you hope it's clean. Then it is nice when it goes in. You know you've hit it well and know when it goes over the wall it has a chance."

On the importance of being top of the Premier League: "It is just trying to win our games before the World Cop and then we've had a really good start to the season. After the World Cup there is a long way to go, we don't know what happens, but we try to win game by game and stay at the top of the league."

  8. 'Very narrow under Steven Gerrard'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

Newcastle v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)

    Alan Hutton
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Aaron Danks made slight changes but under Steven Gerrard, everything was very narrow. You've got Bailey coming inside and Watkins coming inside. Actually, switching them out to the side suits them better. Bailey on the left, Watkins on the right, it gives you that space to deliver and make things happen.

Bailey got a goal and an assist. Danks had some big decisions to make, also leaving John McGinn out was huge but it was night and day. If I was Steven Gerrard watching that performance against Brentford, I'm pulling my hair out.

Unai Emery is Aston Villa's new manager but caretaker boss Aaron Danks will be in charge against Newcastle after overseeing their 4-0 win over Brentford last time out.

Emery will take over from Tuesday after his work permit formalities are completed.

    Leicester City

    James MaddisonImage source, Getty Images

Leicester midfielder James Maddison to BT Sport: "We were pushing at the end, when you play City you have to take your medicine. There are times when you don't touch the ball for 10 minutes but that's what happens against arguably the best team in the world.

"The difference was a moment of brilliance from the best player in the Premier League.

"What a save from Ederson! I had a side view of it and those are the fine margins in the Premier League. The last 20 minutes we had two strikers and had chances but we ran out of time it felt like.

"Pep was asking me at the end why we didn't play like that for the whole game but he knows it's not that simple!"

Graham Potter said he felt he had to "grasp the opportunity" when Chelsea came knocking. The stock of the 47-year-old Englishman continued to rise after he led Brighton to ninth place in the Premier League last season.

Former Brighton and Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell believes the majority of home fans will warmly welcome Potter back.

"They understand if you get a better opportunity to work for a better company, and when it's not necessarily about money, you have to take it," says Sidwell.

  12. Kulusevski back on the pitchpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Bournemouth v Tottenham (15:00 BST)

Spurs fans are hoping to see Dejan Kulusevski back on the pitch sooner rather than later.

    Those down at Bournemouth have.

Kulusevski is not in the matchday squad, but he has been put through his paces by Spurs fitness coaches.

Looks like the Sweden attacking midfielder, who has not played for Tottenham since 17 September because of a thigh injury, should be fit for next week's important Champions League decider.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to BT Sport: "They changed it and it was a difficult game, because they had 10 players so deep and it's so difficult.

"After we scored the goal they changed their rhythm and in the Premier League the last few minutes are always difficult. It's a massive victory for us.

"Kevin de Bruyne is back. He was not playing good the last few games but today he was amazing. He knows it. There was no space today, we had to be patient."

  14. 'The Everton defence are settled'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Fulham v Everton (17:30 BST)

    Ashley Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

You've got two of the best British centre-halves at the heart of your defence. It's no coincidence, Tarkowski is in good form, Coady is in good form and they're settled, I think that's the main thing with the Everton defence.

It was never really settled and as centre-half that's what you want, you don't want to be chopping and changing. You want to know who is next to you, who is behind you, who is just sitting in front of you. They've got two really good screeners now in Gueye and Onana.

Once you strike up a bit of a relationship with your centre-back partner, you don't have to second guess what he's going to do, where he's going to go. You know what he's going to win, what he likes to so, he knows what you like to do and you get that good relationship.

The team is looking a bit more settled and that's probably what Frank Lampard wants. They've been getting better and better and now we're seeing a couple of results to back that up.

  15. 'Brighton will take the game to Chelsea'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 29 October 2022

    Brighton v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

Chris Sutton's predictionsImage source, BBC Sport

After five games in charge, Roberto de Zerbi is still waiting for his first win as Brighton boss.

That means he already had his predecessor, Graham Potter, looming over him - now he goes directly up against him on Potter's first return to the club where he did such a good job.

In contrast, Potter is unbeaten after nine games with Chelsea, but I don't think this will be straightforward for them at all.

Brighton were actually decent in defeat against Manchester City last weekend. A lot of teams get rolled over by City, but the Seagulls took the game to them at times and they will do the same here.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

"Now we know the man behind the player and the emotion of what he went through. His father was obviously an incredible role model. With those sorts of characters in the team, you have a chance to win things.

"You see Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's honesty, he's whole hearted. Now everything makes sense around his career, it puts things into perspective."

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne to BT Sport: "We made it difficult for ourselves, we were a bit tired. They were very negative for 70 minutes but then their changes made it a different game. We didn't keep the ball in their half but we still could have scored a second.

"The free-kick goes perfectly, luckily it's 1-0. Ederson has been great, sometimes we only talk about his distribution but he's a great keeper and he proves it every week.

"We have proved we can win with or without Erling Haaland."
