Liverpool
More from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to MOTD: "We play every three days. It is a brutal season for us because we have had injuries from the first day and some players we have had to rush back.
"But we have to fight through this and we will.
"So many things are unlike us in this moment. I am sorry it is like this, but that is the situation. I am not sure how deep you can dig, but we will. It is like it is and we will work on solutions.
"We have to have a look at this game first, try to understand it a bit more and go from there."

Leeds United
More from Marsch to BBC Match of the Day: "It was necessary to stop the bleeding. We need to enjoy the moment but focus heavily on getting the job done next weekend [at home to Bournemouth].
"We just have to be ready and dig in and fight for everything all season long. I think we’ve shown moments of improvement. We’re just trying to let us have bigger chunks of the match where we can show what we can be like, what we can play like. That’s what’ll determine how successful we will be."
On Crysencio Summerville: "We’re working with him on his discipline and his understanding of what being a professional footballer means. I like young players. I’m really happy but we have to make sure he realises this is just the beginning."
On Illan Meslier: "Illan [Meslier] was really good. He looked stable, he looked strong. We needed big performances from all 11 guys in all moments."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC's Match of the Day: "We started well and then bam we are 1-0 down after a crazy situation. We fight back, we score a deserved equaliser and played an OK first half against a good side.
"We did OK, but we didn't use the chances in the moment.
"Second half, we wanted to go for it, but we are not really controlled. We are hectic in moments. Little things, but they are important in football. This kind of decision making doesn't come easy to us in this moment."
"At 1-1 we had some massive chances, but the biggest disappointment of the game is how we defended for the second goal. That shouldn't happen."
"I would have easily taken the draw in this moment, which is difficult, but now we stand here with nothing, which is completely different."

Leeds United
Leeds manager Jesse Marsch, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think it was three points that are deserved. Obviously there’s a brief celebration [after the second goal], but then it was about thinking about the changes we needed to preserve the win.
"We have stuck together. We haven’t always been perfect. We believe in what we’re doing and we’ve tried to stick to the plan and rise more to the challenge. I think today we saw that.
"Today we increased the moments where we were focused and decreased the moments were we were vulnerable and focused.
"I thought in the first half we were quite good. After we conceded the goal we stuck with the match plan. We were a little bit unlucky not to find the second or third goal in the first half.
"We haven’t wavered. In this day and age it’s hard to create an isolated environment in football, especially in the Premier League. Everyone’s got an opinion on everything that happens. I’ve just tried to stick to my beliefs. That’s what a leader does, especially when it’s tough."

Liverpool
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson speaking to Sky Sports: "We have to think a lot about what we did wrong tonight. The two goals we conceded we shouldn't concede. I should have saved the second goal.
"We had opportunities up front. We are really disappointed for this result.
"This is the Premier League. We don't have time to breathe. We have to fight game after game. When you have bad results at home when you need points it's frustrating but we cannot allow to have that frustration in the next game."

Adam: A painful but unfortunately familiar watch this season. Lacking that little bit of quality in the middle...as noted by absolutely everyone apart from the owners until the last week of the transfer window. Heart hopes they back Klopp in January but head says they won't.
David: Van Dijk just stands up watching Summerville take the shot instead of attacking the ball. Say what you like about him but Nat Phillips would have thrown himself head first into a tackle to stop the shot. VVD isn't the best CH in the PL never mind the world.
Stephen: Virgil van Dijk is a truly horrendous defender and is finally getting exposed for what he actually is. Arguably the most overrated defender of all time.
Rob: Liverpool have a fantastic squad, but Klopp has been here before with Dortmund; Bayern poached his best striker and things started to fall apart. His demeanour has shifted the same way as it did then, when he's happy he's angry, and when he's angry he's very angry.

Leeds United
Leeds manager Jesse Marsch, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a good performance, again. It was good that we were able to reward ourselves. My feeling is that we shouldn’t be in the situation we’re in, but we are. I’ve tried to stay calm, but I’ve also tried to push. The players have stepped up big today, that’s the reason we were able to get the win.
"You can go through the last eight games and we weren’t second best a lot of the times. We talked about staying strong and finding ways to make plays. It’s a tough place to come and the three points is big for us.
"With our principles, pressing, counter-pressing, ability against the ball and in transition... In the first half we could have had more goals. It felt like we were going to go into half-time at 1-1 which seemed unjust.
"We switched Crysencio Summerville and Jack Harrison to try and swap their roles a little bit. Patrick Bamford came in and helped. Wilfried Gnonto came in and helped. I thought all the substitutes did a good job.
"I was focused on us staying disciplined within the match. I’ve believed in this group. We shouldn’t be in this situation if you look at the metrics, but we are. Now we’ve got something like this and now we have to stay strong.
"We’re still in the process of trying to build something that’s new. In our good moments we’re really good, in our bad moments we look too vulnerable and naïve.
"Everybody’s made a big deal about firing me, but the board and I have been unified and we’ve stuck together."

Liverpool
More from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "In this situation [for Leeds' second goal] it is unlucky, it happens. We had a similar situation before that we didn't use.
How do you fix the problem?: "Maybe some players are overplayed, Harvey [Elliott] has been exceptional for us this season. He had a good start but couldn't keep it going. Thiago has been ill, up front the same [players] play all the time - they are the three strikers we have left. We have to fight and that is what we must do."
Is it individual errors? "A team performance is always made up of individual performances. One leads to the other. You can watch this game completely, you cannot defend like we did for the second goal but we did, that's why we lost. Otherwise, it would have been a point and we go from there. Now we have nothing and it feels completely different."
How do you recover from this? "We have to bring our quality on to the pitch and we fight against it. We had problems from the first day, injury wise. Players have had to play from the first day. It's our situation and it means we have to help ourselves, and that is what we will do."

Leeds manager Jesse Marsch said they needed "big performances from all over the pitch" and Illan Meslier and Crysencio Summerville gave that.
Liverpool 1-2 Leeds
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a set-back, absolutely. I thought we had a really good start then conceded a freakish goal.
"We scored the equaliser but for some reason it didn't give us the security back. We struggled to control the game and gave too many balls away.
"The boys tried, we had good possession and had big chances but, in the end, if it is 1-1 and you defend the situation around the second goal like this, you leave everything open.
"In the end, it was two versus one in the box and they can finish off the situation. The problem is we cannot control this type of game at the moment."
More to follow.

Brian: Liverpool are suffering a mix of problems - ridiculous number of injuries, out of form players (Fabinho, TAA) ageing players, weak midfield, inexperienced youngsters and arrivals. Huge rebuild required next three transfer windows.
Sean McGreal: Liverpool are a mere shadow of the side that displayed such energy & enthusiasm on the run in to the title in 2020.

Crysencio Summerville tells BBC Match of the Day: "This is the best present I can get from anything. Words can't describe my feelings right now.

Leeds' matchwinner Crysencio Summerville, speaking to Sky Sports: “It’s a huge moment for me and my family. Scoring at Anfield is a big moment for me. It went so quick.
“When you’re in the box you have to think quickly. It just happened.
“As a young kid I played for Feyenoord. I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League, but scoring the winner at Anfield is a dream for every player.
“My family are in Holland but I’ll visit them tomorrow. My birthday [on Sunday] is going to be special!”

Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live
It was a determined and tough performance from the very first whistle. Very organised and they've pressed - they also tried to play as well. To get that winner later on...
The scenes on the left-hand side is incredible. It is a stunned Anfield, but yet another poor result from this Liverpool team and Jurgen Klopp.

Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, speaking to Sky Sports: "I’m here since the beginning. I’m very proud to make the step, to keep working and to have a great game today at Anfield. I’m pleased we can bring the three points to Leeds.
“Everyone said we had nothing to lose but we came with a plan. It’s very hard to play against this team, but our counter-attack was very good.”
On Crysencio Summerville's goal: “We never know with the VAR. I just stayed focused on the game, but I’ll try to enjoy it with him now.”
On his own performance: “It’s a fantastic sensation to help the team, then when you score at the end you say, ‘yes!’ It’s perfect for us.”

Lesley Keech: I am impressed with Gnonto, very composed cross to give us the winning goal. Great potential there.
