  1. 'Fabianski gets caught out'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Arsenal 2-1 West Ham

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Middlesbrough & Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Fabianski will definitely be disappointed with that. It was a good, hard finish into that corner and I don't think Fabianski was expecting it - he thought it was going to get whipped across goal.

He gets caught out, just sticks out a right leg and tries to put a block in but gets beaten at the near post. Arsenal, for the first time in this game really, raised the tempo and played the ball out wide really quickly.

They've got the rewards from it, and it was a very good finish.

West Ham are on the ropes now. They concede a needless corner. Can the Gunners wrap this one up?

I said at half-time this was a big test for Arsenal's title credentials. Still half an hour to go but they are coming through this with flying colours.

Arsenal fans chant Arsene Wenger's name. The ex-Gunners boss/now Fifa guy is at the game and waves to the supporters.

    Gabriel Martinelli

Everything about this one is intentional. Bukayo Saka wins the ball off England team-mate Declan Rice and finds Martin Odegaard. He passes to Granit Xhaka, who feeds Gabriel Martinelli with the Brazilan charging into the box.

Martinelli hammers the ball past Lukasz Fabianski at his near post. The West Ham keeper sticks out a foot but can't keep it out. Poor goalkeeping really.

Probably a fair scoreline now. Can that Arsenal goal from nowhere give them a big boost?

Ally McCoist on the Amazon Prime punditry is not having that as a Martin Odegaard assist. But my fantasy football team very much are.

    Bukayo Saka

Arsenal are level and it's a funny* one. Martin Odegaard totally drags a terrible shot from 25 yards... that lands at the feet of the unmarked Bukayo Saka in the box.

It's a lovely first touch from Saka and he slots it into the bottom corner.

*not funny for West Ham fans.

Jarrod Bowen is bundled over by Manx Scot Kieran Tierney and West Ham have a free-kick in midfield.

    Arsenal 0-1 West Ham

Better from Arsenal. Martin Odegaard pulls the ball back for Thomas Partey, whose low 25-yard curler is saved by Lukasz Fabianski. I don't think it was going in anyway but the keeper had to be sure.

Oh hello. Michail Antonio runs onto a ball down the right and into the box before slamming in a shot from an angle which Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale saves at his near post.

A good chance for Arsenal to show their mettle here in the title race. And a great chance for West Ham to start their climb away from the drop zone.
