Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish, speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme:
"It feels like we are halfway through the season but we're nowhere near. We've got a lot of games to catch up on. We've got an incredibly packed schedule because of the World Cup."
After six weeks without anything, there is just one day between now and 5 January when there is no Premier League football.
There are 30 games crammed into the next 10 days before the league poises for the third round of the FA Cup.
Standby for loads of VAR controversies, red cards, touchline bust-ups and dramatic goals.
So much has happened since the last round of Premier League games.
Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United and leaders Arsenal have been rocked by a serious knee injury to Gabriel Jesus.
Meanwhile, Brighton, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United have all welcomed World Cup winners back to their clubs.

That's right. Forty-three days and one action-packed World Cup down the line, the Premier League returns from a six-week break.
The last game on 13 November saw 18-year-old substitute Alejandro Garnacho score a dramatic 93rd-minute winner for Manchester United at Fulham.
The first game back sees Tottenham make the journey across London to face Brentford.
