    Man City 1-0 Everton

It turns out angry Erling Haaland is just as effective.

    HT: Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace

It was criminal defending from Bournemouth for Jordan Ayew's opener for Palace. They're showing replays of it now and he has nobody near him. He's six yards out from a corner.

No wonder Bournemouth have conceded so many this season.

  3. 'Newcastle have not asked enough questions'published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    HT: Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

High tempo match, Leeds have put a lot of work rate into it but little attacking rewards.

Newcastle haven't raise the tempo enough, haven't asked enough questions. Not enough quality when people have had the ball in good areas. They have lost possession cheaply.

0-0 is a very, very fair result.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 1-0 Everton

There's the whistle at the Etihad too as John Stones hits the post minutes before half-time and a pumped up Erling Haaland struts down the tunnel having given his side the lead. Ben Godfrey smartly keeps his distance.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Luke Ayling is booked just before half-time as he trips Joe Willock before the whistle is blown to signal the break.

No goals but I'll be surprised if this ends goalless.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Fulham 1-0 Southampton

An intriguing game at Craven Cottage. Fulham have the lead, Southampton have work to do.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace

It's all going spot on for Palace.

Two goals from two corners and they have complete control of this. Bournemouth have rarely threatened them at the other end.

There is a bit of booing as the whistle goes but that could easily be for the ref, who the home fans feel hasn't given them much.

  8. Postpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Fulham 1-0 Southampton

Lots of tussling at Craven Cottage too as Aleksandar Mitrovic and Armel Bella-Kotchap continue to tug each other back as they challenge for the ball. The Fulham striker wants a free-kick. He eventually gets one when he's held back by Lyanco.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 1-0 Everton

Uh-oh... Erling Haaland is maybe too fired up now. He goes in far too rashly on Vitalii Mykolenko. The referee races over to difuse the situation and shows him a yellow card. James Tarkowski gets one too for chatting back.

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don't know why Trippier is moaning. If Gnonto goes on, he is bearing down on goal. It's a yellow card.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 1-0 Everton

The free-kick is curled in perfectly for John Stones but he heads it off the post!

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Simon Hooper is not winning any friends here as he books Kieran Trippier after the full-back had halted Wilfried Gnonto's run. The yellow seemed fair to me but it is simmering a bit now.

  13. Postpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 1-0 Everton

Erling Haaland and Ben Godfrey are STILL at it. Haaland does a little dance and it looks like he's taking the mickey out of Godfrey before the ball comes their way and they challenge for it in the air. A few moments later, Godfrey is penalised for a foul on the striker and he celebrates animatedly, arms in the air, conducting the crowd to jeer. He's absolutely loving this!

  14. Postpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace

Jordan Ayew is doing as much as anyone to get under Bournemouth's skin. He is a real menace. Just when you think you've shaken him off, there he is again, snapping at your heels.

  15. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Fulham 1-0 Southampton

Fulham still aren't quite comfortable as Southampton mount another attack down the right which is hastily cleared in the six-yard area.

Aleksandar Mitrovic isn't happy at the other end as he thinks he's been fouled off the ball by Armel Bella-Kotchap.

No penalty at all. I wouldn't even bother to look at that. Schar has run out of legs a little bit and he's fallen over. You cannot give him that.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

The Newcastle fans scream for a penalty as Fabian Schar strides forward and into the box before he goes to go ground under close attention from Tyler Adams. Referee Simon Hooper waves play on.

    Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Subtitute Siriki Dembele has had to wait a long time for a chance in the Premier League with Bournemouth. The former Grimsby and Peterborough winger was largely used as an impact substitute in the Championship prromotion campaign, only starting four games since joining last January.

Having only made a couple of late cameo appearances in the Premier League this season, it s the earliest he has been on the field in a league game since April.

  19. Postpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Much better from Leeds at the back as Pascal Struijk powerfully heads away Kieran Trippier's corner.

The visitors then go up the other end to win a corner of their own. Struijk is up there to meet the delivery but misses his header.

  20. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 1-0 Everton

Riyad Mahrez's header is straight to Demarai Gray but City quickly get players around him to stop the counter-attack.
