Pedro Neto missed an early chance to put Wolves in front but he has just had two dangerous bursts into the Newcastle box.

He couldn't pick out a team-mate with his cross on either occasion but Wolves will take heart from that.

It has been an issue going back to the Nuno Espirito Santo era that they have not turned their positive play into goals.

Proper pinball in the Wolves box from a long throw-in, Sean Longstaff has his shirt pulled but the referee says no penalty, and Joe Willock pokes a shot wide from close range.

That was a good penalty shout actually, surprised VAR didn't get involved.

Danny Ings crosses from the left for Aston Villa but there is no one in the box to challenge for his high, deep delivery. The forward is a tad isolated at the moment.

Pedro Neto is in a lively mood for Wolves. He runs onto a ball down the left and does Kieran Trippier for pace but his cross is held by Nick Pope.

Lovely flick from Gianluca Scamacca into the path of Jarrod Bowen and the game is starting to open up slightly.

Newcastle midfielder Joe Willock is hobbling a bit. We'll keep an eye on that.

Good, direct running from Jarrod Bowen to carry West Ham deep into the opposition half, but the ball bounces off Tomas Soucek and out of play to bring that attack to an end.

It's been a really good start to the game, it's been tight and it's been edgy.

There will be a key battle in midfield today and at the moment, West Ham are edging it.

Tomas Soucek hauls Villa captain John McGinn to the floor and the hosts get a free-kick on halfway. Villa look to come forward down the left with Danny Ings, and win a throw.

Pedro Neto should put Wolves ahead here. Ruben Neves plays a wonderful ball to Matheus Nunes on the right. He crosses and Neto beats Nick Pope, who is off his line, to the ball but clips his shot onto the roof of the net.

Good pressure from Miguel Almiron but Jonny Castro Otto defends well.

Bit of an arm wrestle at the moment, neither side able to string many passes together and it's all a bit scrappy in the middle of the park.

Today at Molineux we have a home side owned by a Chinese company that also has a stake in a leading football agency based in Portugal. Their starting line-up has seven Portuguese players.

The away side is owed by the Saudi Arabian investment fund, wearing a kit very similar in design to Saudi Arabia's.

First chance is to Newcastle. Joelinton pokes a ball into Chris Wood, who tries to go round Jose Sa but he's forced so far wide that Sa is able to save his shot.
