    Annan Athletic 0-0 Aberdeen

Matt Kennedy, who already has two goals in this competition this season for Aberdeen, has a shot cleared off the line by Annan captain Steven Swindlehurst.

That's the closest either side have come to a goal at Galabank.

Take nothing away from that finish, it's incredible. Lee Connelly latches on to the pass and curls it in.

    Lee Connelly

    What a finish!

Fashion Sakala's simple back pass is all wrong, but forget about that... Lee Connelly races onto the ball and chips a ridiculous finish over Allan McGregor.

    Superb stuff.

Dundee are really settling in to this one.

Zach Robinson in particular is looking a real threat up top for the hosts, only a brilliant block by Craig McGuffie has prevented him giving the hosts the lead.

What a goal and what a start for his Rangers career here on his debut. I think it takes a slight deflection but he finishes into the back of the net.

With Ryan Jack's experience, I think he can play centre-back comfortably. It's a new role for him.

  17. Managers give pre-match thoughts at Ibroxpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 30 August 2022

Rangers v Queen of the South (19:45)

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst tells Premier Sports: "We want to keep going, playing the passing game we want, it doesn't matter who you play or where.

"Robbie [Ure] trained pre-season with us, we're very happy with his performances. He will lead the line up front."

Queen of the South boss Willie Gibson tells Premiers Sports: "The boys were looking for a big team and you don't get many bigger than Rangers.

"It's important to freshen things up and we need a lot of energy. We want to try put our game on Rangers rather than sit back."

  18. Falkirk at Dens for first time since 2016published at 19:36 British Summer Time 30 August 2022

    Dundee v Falkirk (19:45)

Dundee have made a stuttering start to the Championship season and they welcome a third-tier Falkirk side who have enjoyed a fairly impressive start to their League 1 campaign.

Surprisingly, this is the first encounter between the sides in over six years. That was a Scottish Cup encounter, which finished 3-1 to Dundee at Dens.

Gary Bowyer would certainly settle for that this evening.

  19. All-Championship affair at Firhillpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 30 August 2022

    Partick Thistle v Arbroath (19:45)

It's an all-Championship clash at Firhill as Partick Thistle welcome Arbroath.

Dick Campbell's part-time side, who came within a whisker of a remarkable Premiership promotion last term, have seen a contrast in fortunes as they sit bottom of the second tier after five games.

They can kick their season into life by booking a quarter-final place tonight with win at Thistle, who currently sit second in the Championship with 10 points from their opening five games.

  20. No Ramirez or Bates in Dons squadpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 30 August 2022

    Annan Athletic v Aberdeen (19:45)

Jim Goodwin has named a strong Aberdeen side this evening as winger Shayden Morris makes his first Dons start.

Left-back Jack MacKenzie is also in from the off for the first time this season.

Interestingly, striker Christian Ramirez and centre-back David Bates are nowhere to be seen on the Dons bench.

Maybe Goodwin can clear that up pre-match.
