This season's League Cup presents Jim Goodwin with his first opportunity to get his hands on silverware as Aberdeen boss.
The group stage saw the Dons win all four games, warming them up perfectly for the Premiership season, but the Pittodrie will face a side tonight who also boasted a 100% win rate in the groups.
Fourth-tier Annan haven't transitioned that form into the league, however, only winning one of their opening five games.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst ended last season with the Scottish Cup in his hands, now the Dutchman has his sights on Scotland's other domestic cup.
Not since the 2010-11 campaign have the Ibrox side won the League Cup, and they will hope to take one step closer to ending that drought when they host third-tier Queen of the South tonight.
The last time both sides met was in fact in this very competition, with Rangers thrashing the Dumfries side 5-0 to reach the semi-finals in 2016-17.
After being relegated from the Championship last term, Queens have won just one of their opening five League 1 matches.
Rangers, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain their unbeaten domestic start to the season.

As expected, Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named a much-changed line-up.
Three teenage academy products - Leon King, Adam Devine and Robbie Ure - feature in the starting XI, with 18-year-old forward Ure making his debut.
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Allan McGregor, who is also a Rangers academy product, makes his first appearance of the season in goal.
