    The Ajax players are doing a lap of honour, and no wonder. That was sensational stuff from the Dutch champions.

    Rangers looked to have steadied the ship in the second half, but, if anything, Borna Barisic's ruled-out goal seemed to offer the Dutch more encouragement.

    Rangers will have other nights, but this one will hurt. No question.

    The dream turned into a nightmare. Anything that could go wrong did. The offside goal, Ryan Jack giving the ball away... We said Saturday was bad, this is equally bad and really concerning, maybe even more so because a lot of supporters were looking for a reaction.

    A sobering night for Rangers. They were thoroughly outclassed in Amsterdam and that's back-to-back 4-0 defeats for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.

    Ajax were rampant in the three-goal first half, not giving the visitors a chance to breath.

    The tempo dropped considerably after the break and Rangers did at least manage to stage a few attacks, but they were undone by a careless mistake for goal number four.

    Credit to Ryan Kent who is still sniffing for a chance as we enter stoppage time. He steals the ball from a dithering defender but his shot clips the head of Jurrien Timber and that diverts it against the base of the post.

    It's self-inflicted again from a Rangers point of view. It's such a slack pass from Ryan Jack, and then Steven Bergwijn rounds John McLaughlin and taps it in. You simply cannot gift teams of this quality chances like that.
