Martin Boyle scored from the penalty spot after Scales conceded a penalty late in the first half after Luis Lopes' early opener for Aberdeen.
Hibs dominated the second half and two goals from Josh Campbell secured them the three points.

Cristian Montano's 24th minute header proved enough to separate the sides as the visitors failed to create many, if any, chances of note.
Stephane Omeonga and Scott Pittman had opportunities to put the game beyond doubt, but neither could make the most of the chances presented to them.
The loss leaves Kilmarnock two points off bottom spot.
