    Davit Khocholava (own goal)

It's actually not Erling Haaland this time. Shocking.

Sergio Gomez hits a great strike from outside the box. It's full of pace and Davit Khocholava can only touch it past his keeper, wrong-footing him.

    It's offside for sure.

Mount had crept that little bit too early.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 5 October 2022

    Chelsea 1-0 AC Milan

A goal so good it didn't deserve to be disallowed.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang flicks a first-time ball over the top to Mason Mount. The Chelsea midfielder lets it bounce and then lobs the keeper from a tight angle with it dropping into an empty net.

    But he was offside.

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Copenhagenpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 5 October 2022

    Erling Haaland (32 mins)

    Hahahaha, he's done it again.

Sergio Gomez smacks it on the volley from the corner and the rebound is fumbled into the path of Erling Haaland.

It's a tap-in but he was in the right place at the right time.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:33 British Summer Time 5 October 2022

    Man City 1-0 Copenhagen

Riyad Mahrez drifts inside as City try to force another opening. It's switched across to Jack Grealish eventually, who links up with Bernardo Silva.

Ilkay Gundogan then gets it in the middle, tees up Grealish and the goalkeeper again denies him.

Nice play by Raheem Sterling and Reece James down the right for Chelsea. James finds a third England player in Mason Mount and his sweet first-time shot is blocked by Pierre Kalulu.

    Real Madrid 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Real Madrid double their lead after 28 minutes and it's a beautifully worked goal with Karim Benzema and Rodrygo linking up beautifully before the latter finds his fellow Brazilian Vinicius Jr, who confidently sweeps the ball home.

A long way back for the visitors now, you'd have to say.

Ian: Give Haaland all the awards now. By the end of the season he'll be so far ahead of everyone it'll be ridiculous. And he's having 4 weeks off mid-season to re-charge!

Steve: I don't gamble much at all, but I can only imagine every betting company has 'Haaland to score at anytime' constantly suspended.

Marc: Darwin Nunez: "It's been hard to adapt!" ... Erling Haaland: "Hold my beer..."

  16. Chelsea make the breakthroughpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 5 October 2022

    Chelsea 1-0 AC Milan

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea had been pressing, forcing AC Milan keeper Ciprian Tatarusanu into action and now they have their reward.

Plenty of action the technical area too with Milan's volatile coach Stefano Pioli. He is ready to give his views to everyone and is cutting quite a dash in his smart grey suit and luminous white training shoes. His backroom staff just had to take cover when he slammed down a plastic water bottle in disgust.

He will be even more disgusted now.

For anyone playing fantasy Champions League football, Ruben Loftus-Cheek got the assist there, he got the final touch in the scramble before Wesley Fofana pinged in.

Milan have really let themselves down in the set-piece department.

There's bodies everywhere but I felt the goalkeeper could have saved it because it was really poor handling in the end.

    Simple finish for Fofana.

    Sevilla 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

Sevilla's night nearly goes from bad to worse as Youssef En-Nesyri is shown a straight red card for hauling down Salih Ozcan as the Dortmund midfielder breaks through on goal.

However, after a VAR review, it is overturned with Jesus Navas having been fouled in the build-up. Off the hook.
