    Man Utd 2-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

So, what's this mean for the bigger picture?

Manchester United, presuming they don't blow this lead and end up losing heavily, will be guaranteed a top-two finish in Group E.

They can still finish top - and therefore going directly into the last 16 - if they beat Real Sociedad by two goals or more next week.

Sociedad are now 2-0 ahead in Nicosia and look set to remain three points clear of United going into next week's final group match.

  3. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Michail Antonio puts the ball in the net, but the flag is raised for offside. Pablo Fornals is needlessly beyond the last defender as he receives the ball in acres of space to the left of goal, before squaring the ball to Antonio.

Frustration for David Moyes. The changes are on their way.

  4. goal

GOAL - Man Utd 2-0 Sheriff Tiraspolpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    Marcus Rashford (65 mins)

From substitute to another. Luke Shaw, seconds after coming on, picks out Marcus Rashford with a cross from the left and the England striker finishes a lovely move with textbook header.

Game, if it wasn't already, over.

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Erik ten Hag decides it is time for another couple of Manchester United changes.

Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay are on, with Diogo Dalot and Casemiro going off.

  6. CLOSE!published at 21:21 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Said Benrahma doesn't quite know how he's not scored.

He calmly sets himself up for a shot as the Silkeborg defenders desperately fly in front of him to try and block any shot, but when Benrahma does let rip he sees the ball deflected out for a corner by an outstretched heel, with the goalkeeper beaten.

Sulaimon: This Garnacho boy has been more lively in this match than Sancho has been all season. Huge potential!!

Papito: Please I don't want to see Sancho in this United team, young Garnacho is the man, a complete baller.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Cristiano Ronaldo scores... or does he? No. He's offside.

Sums up his evening so far, really.

Bruno Fernandes heads into his Portugal team-mate's path and Ronaldo hammers a volley into the roof of the net.

But he turns to his right and sees the linesman's flag wafting.

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Time ticks past the hour mark and United are again making themselves at home in the Sheriff half.

If this was outside of a football pitch they'd be getting evicted for squatting.

  10. Postpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Kevin Nolan is giving a few final instructions to 23-year-old Flynn Downes.

David Moyes said he'd give Nayef Aguerd an hour on his return tonight, so we can expect to see him withdrawn soon after a fairly comfortable return to action.

  11. Postpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Cristiano Ronaldo chews his lip and stands with his hands on hips.

Here's why: the Manchester United striker ambles into space inside the Sheriff penalty area and with the Old Trafford crowd expecting to see the net bulge, he fires wide.

    Shock all round.

  12. Postpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Manchester United would like a second goal as quick as possible to put this one to bed.

Erik ten Hag's side are working hard, but just lacking quality in the final third at the moment.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:14 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Manuel Lanzini plays in Said Benrahma, who's one-on-one with the goalkeeper as the flag goes up for offside.

David Moyes is deep in thought on the touchline. His side are in control, but it's clear he wants this put beyond any doubt sooner rather than later.

    And that's why!

Toren Tengstedt draws a great reaction save from Alphonse Areola as Silkeborg create their best opening of the match. Great save, especially considering Areola has had little else to do.

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Feels like this should be a gentle reintegration for Harry Maguire following his recent injury.

The United skipper has enjoyed a few touches so far, getting attacks moving from the back.

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Hang on, didn't see this one coming.

Cristiano Ronaldo magnanimously hands over the free-kick to the man who won it, but Christian Eriksen fires over the bar and into the crowd.

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

A desperate lunge from Moussa Kyabou on United's Christian Eriksen leads to a free-kick in a central position about 25 yards out from the Sheriff goal.

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Thirteen shots for West Ham, four on target, but their only goal has come from a penalty.

Gianluca Scamacca might soon be begging David Moyes to let him on to the pitch.

  18. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    Man Utd 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Goals, goals, goals is what Erik ten Hag wants and his side attack in the early stages of the second half.

Diogo Dalot's cross is headed out by the Sheriff defence, with Cristiano Ronaldo again sniffing blood.

The Moldovan champions then offer a warning to Manchester United with a rare foray forward, but the attack comes to nothing.

  19. CLOSE!published at 21:06 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

    West Ham 1-0 Silkeborg

Almost an absolute gift for West Ham.

Sloppy play at the back by Silkeborg, who give away possession on the edge of their own box, but Pablo Fornals pulls his shot wide of the target.

  20. Mixed reception for Harry Maguirepublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

There was a mixed reception when Harry Maguire's name was read out before the second-half started.

However, the first time he touched the ball there were plenty of supportive cheers.

Maguire may not have many opportunities to prove his fitness before Gareth Southgate names his World Cup squad, so this is important.
