There's certainly been no lack of effort from the Hull contingent tonight.

However, the attempts to get creative talent such Ozan Tufan into the game fully have been well checked by Nathan Jones' Luton.

Andy Dawson is a man those players will be keen to do their best for that certain, and the crowd has largely been supportive.

    Two goals is tough though.

It's been a dizzying day for Hull City given the sacking of their manager Shota Arveladze just hours before tonight.

To their credit, they've performed reasonably well.

    But they trail 2-0.

Luton got a slightly lucky opener after a rasping Elijah Adebayo shot smacked the bar and went in off Alfie Jones.

There was no fortune, only terrific technique about the second. Henri Lansbury's rocket was stunning.

    The Hatters are in control.

First goal since April 2018, and it was worth the wait.

Hull failed to clear sufficiently after a goalmouth scramble saw Jordan Clark's shot was well-saved and a cross sent in.

Lansbury stepped up onto the loose ball about 25 yards out and cracked it searing into the bottom corner.

    Rocket.

Henri Lansbury is copping a bit in midfield, the Luton schemer has been scythed down a couple of times in quick succession.

Free-kick comes to nothing, neither does Hull's counter through Oscar Estupinan, thanks to Jordan Clark.

Scrappy finish to the first 45.
