The away side are forced into an early change as Rhys Norrington Davis is forced off with an injury and James McAtee is on in his stead.

The Wales international had to be stretchered off and with just a few weeks until the World Cup this could be really bad news.

Our final game of the evening is about to get under way at The Den, as Millwall look to secure their third successive win.

The Lions take on a Watford side who have struggled to find consistency so far this season.

Slaven Bilic will hope to see something more like the performance from the 4-0 win at Stoke or 2-1 win over Norwich on Saturday rather than the defeats by Swansea and Blackpool that fell between those two games.

  4. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    Blackpool 0-0 Hull City

Blackpool have the first chance of note of the evening as Gary Madine sends a header over the crossbar from a corner.

    QPR 0-0 Cardiff

QPR are almost off to a tremendous start in what could be Michael Beale's farewell game as manager.

Ilias Chair seizes on a botched clearance by Bluebirds goalkeeper Ryan Allsop but can only shoot against the side netting. Cardiff escape!

The last four league encounters between Wigan and Middlesbrough at the DW Stadium have all ended as draws.

One good omen for third-bottom Boro, who are seeking to end a nine-game winless away run in the Championship, is their record against Wigan in league matches: they are unbeaten in 11 since a 1-0 away defeat in 2007.

Antoine Sibierski scored the winner that day, when Gareth Southgate was in charge of Boro.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

We're under way in our five 19:45 BST Championship games.

Can Burnley retake top spot from rivals Blackburn? Can Coventry climb off the bottom of the table?

    We're about to find out.

  9. Boro's away day droughtpublished at 19:43 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    Wigan v Middlesbrough (19:45 BST)

Liz Truss was a week away from becoming prime minister and only one Championship manager had been sacked when Middlesbrough last scored an away goal.

In fairness, they've only been on their travels twice since then, losing at Coventry and Millwall under two different managers.

Interim manager Leo Percovich might be overseeing his final game as boss tonight if a new round of talks between Boro and Michael Carrick prove productive.

Improving on a run of one goal in four games on the road could be a fine way to sign off for former goalkeeper Percovich - and a relief for fans who frequently travel some of the longest distances in the country in the hope of seeing the ball hit the back of the opposition net.

    Blackpool v Hull (19:45 BST)

Perhaps as is befitting a town famous for its funfair, Blackpool's season so far has had ups, downs and just about everything in between.

Saturday's 3-3 draw at Sheffield United will live long in the memory of the Seasiders fans who made the trip to South Yorkshire.

The visitors fell two goals behind early on only to roar back and go 3-2 up before the real drama started in the final 15 minutes.

Marvin Ekpiteta and Dom Thompson were both sent off for the visitors, Rhian Brewster missed a penalty for the home side before they finally equalised in the final minute. Just to round things off Blackpool forward Shayne Lavery and Blades goalkeeper Wes Foderingham were sent off after the final whistle for their part in a melee.

Tonight's opponents Hull would be happy with far less excitement this evening if they could come away with the points.

The managerless Tigers have dropped off terribly after a bright start and could end the night in the relegation zone.

Coventry v Sheff Utd (19:45 BST)

They say the table doesn't lie and while that might be the case it also doesn't always tell the full story.

Coventry might be rooted to the foot of the table at the moment but issues with their pitch mean they have played five games fewer than some of the other sides in the division and they've lost just one of their past six matches.

Sheffield United meanwhile start the night in third but have picked up just two points from their past four games.

The Blades are without goalkeeper Wes Foderingham after he was sent off after the final whistle in Saturday's mad 3-3 draw with nine-man Blackpool.

  12. Cardiff to capitalise on QPR uncertainty?published at 19:37 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    QPR v Cardiff (19:45 BST)

With Wolves said to want QPR manager Michael Beale in charge for their home game against Leicester on Sunday, there is bound to be an air of uncertainty around Loftus Road tonight.

QPR are unbeaten at home in four matches and could earn successive home wins for the first time in almost a year as they bid to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at Luton on Saturday. Victory will also take them top of the table if Burnley and Sheffield United fail to win.

Visitors Cardiff won this fixture 2-1 in March but lost 1-0 at home to Coventry on Saturday, ending the Bluebirds' run of two victories in a row.

  13. Burnley targeting top spotpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    Birmingham v Burnley (19:45 BST)

    BurnleyImage source, Getty Images

Burnley begin the night on a 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions and are undefeated in five Championship away games, including a 1-0 win at Coventry last time out.

Vincent Kompany's side have impressed since the newcomer to English football management took over following their relegation from the Premier League, and they would move a point above current leaders Blackburn with victory tonight, going top unless Sheffield United win by more goals than the Clarets.

While Burnley have not won consecutive away games since May 2021, Birmingham have not won two in a row at St Andrew's since November 2021.

John Eustace's side beat Bristol City 3-0 in their last home game and followed that up with a 2-0 triumph at Hull. They start the evening in 15th but could rise as high as eighth and have not conceded a goal in more than four hours of football.

We've got six more second-tier games for you this evening after the half dozen we brought you last night.
