  2. Red card 'a bit of a gift' for Swansea - Martinpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

Swansea head coach Russell Martin tells Sky Sports: "Obviously it was a bit of a gift early on with the sending off. That's what the derby atmosphere can do to people.

"I thought we were really good after that, we worked the ball really well before we got a little bit impatient. That was the message at half-time, to be patient. I didn't like how we started the second half at all, we got caught up with too many bookings and getting involved in stuff we shouldn't.

"But I loved the way we managed the last 25 minutes, I really enjoyed it. It's a brilliant day for us. The red card changed Cardiff's game plan, they started the game really well."

  3. Red card 'a learning' for Robinson, says Hudsonpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

Cardiff interim boss Mark Hudson tells Sky Sports: "It [the red card] has made it very difficult, the players having to do 10 against 11 having had to do it on Wednesday as well [in the 3-0 loss to QPR].

"I thought the players stuck together, showed fight and determination and a togetherness to keep going until the end, knowing how much it means to everyone.

"He [Callum Robinson] has been brilliant since he came in and I think he's maybe cared a bit too much with the emotion of the game.

"It's a learning for him but I can only go back to the players. They showed how much it meant to them."

  4. 'Anything possible' for Swans, says Obafemipublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

Swansea striker Michael Obafemi tells Sky Sports: "It's a big derby and I like to participate and I've got three goals in three games [against Cardiff].

"I had a few chances, frustrated I didn't put them away, but I'm glad I'm getting those chances.

"Anything's possible. We set ourselves a target of getting into the play-offs and hopefully get promotion. Let's see."

Watford put their poor recent run behind them as they hammered their local rivals Luton at Vicarage Road.

Slaven Bilic's side had lost three of their previous four games to slump to 15th in the Championship table.

The sending off was a massive factor, but I think Swansea still would have won the game with 11 men because of the momentum that they are in at the moment.

  7. 'Great day, great atmosphere' - Swans captain Grimespublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

Swansea captain Matt Grimes tells Sky Sports: "Great day, great atmosphere.

"We really stuck to the plan and chipped away at them when they went down to 10 men.

"Derby games always start frantically and they did us a favour with the sending off.

"You know exactly the importance of this game. We wanted to give the fans everything."

Cardiff did alright the way they reacted, they showed resilience, they worked hard, they fought for each other and tried to make it difficult for the Swans.

They weren't able to produce anything really and hurt the opposition in the final third because the game plan had to change.

    It's as simple as that.

  9. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Watford 4-0 Luton

That was as close to perfect an afternoon as Slaven Bilic and Watford are likely to get this season, dominating the match from start to finish.

Keinan Davis set them on their way in just the third minute before William Troost-Ekong doubled the lead right before half-time.

Goals from Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr compounded Luton's misery before Gabe Osho's late red card.

The win lifts Watford up to to 10th in the Championship, one point and one place below the Hatters.

  10. Postpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    FT: Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

A few weeks ago, there were calls for Swansea boss Russell Martin to be sacked with the Swans languishing near the foot of the Championship.

Since then Bluebirds boss Steve Morison was sacked and now the table reads very, very differently.

Swansea are up to fourth, three points off the summit, while Cardiff are 20th, just two points outside the relegation zone.

Stick with us for a bit, we will bring you the reaction as we get it.

Not you Cardiff and Luton fans, you are of course excused.

Try and enjoy the rest of your Sunday if you can (I know you can't, I'm just trying to be encouraging).

Yaser Asprilla has looked very dangerous on the ball since coming off the bench for Watford, he has just danced through several challenges to get a shot off, which was saved by Ethan Horvath to deny the Hornets a fifth.

The whistle goes and this one is over. Though in truth, I could have said those words long ago...

    That's it!

A dominant win for Swansea, again, courtesy of Callum Robinson's early and incredibly stupid red card.

The bragging rights belong to the Swans, the Bluebirds are beaten for a third successive south Wales derby.

We will have four added minutes.

The Swansea fans are enjoying themselves.

It's ole, ole time at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The passing is ended by an agricultural challenge by Mark Harris on Nathan Wood, which draws another yellow card.

Cardiff's players have worked incredibly hard to keep this score respectable.

Unlike last season, you can't really fault them.

Well, you can't fault 10 of them.

  16. CLOSE!published at 86 mins

    Swansea 2-0 Cardiff

Michael Obafemi has had four golden chances to score today and now he's missed three of them, as his shot is just wide of the far post.

Despite that glass half empty assessment, he's been excellent today.

    A constant threat.

  17. RED CARD: Watford 4-0 Lutonpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    Gabe Osho (83 min)

    Oh dear.

The half-time substitute Gabe Osho is off down the tunnel after a reckless challenge on Ken Sema.

Luton just need this to end now. It's been a terrible day for the Hatters.

  20. goal

GOAL: Watford 4-0 Lutonpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    Ismaila Sarr (80 min)

Luton won't want to see this again.

Watford win the ball back high up the pitch and Ismaila Sarr works room for the shot on the left-hand side, driving a fierce shot into the far corner with his right foot.

It's Sarr's fifth goal of the season and Watford's fourth this afternoon.
