    Watford 1-0 Luton

Ismaila Sarr drives forward down the left-hand side before having a shot blocked from outside the area.

He gets it back before feeding Joao Pedro, who sets up Edo Kayembe for the low left-foot shot. Ethan Horvath gets down to make save.

Pedro then finds himself running into space with Ismaila Sarr to his right and Keinan Davis to his left. He plays in Davis but his ball across is easily gathered by the goalkeeper.

Watford are having a good spell of possession and controlling the game, Slaven Bilic will want to see his side capitalise on their dominance.

If you keep on playing left to right, the gaps will open up because fatigue will set in at some point for Cardiff.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Swansea are probing with their passing, but it's all a little pedestrian at the moment.

They are definitely missing the quality of delivery Ryan Manning provides.

  4. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

    Great stuff from Cardiff!

Some good possession culminates in a lovely volley by Tom Sang, which Steven Benda has to turn behind for a corner at full stretch.

    Encouragement at last for Cardiff.

From the corner Benda loses the ball, but Niels Nkounkou fires his shot over the bar and at that trajectory, into Port Talbot.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

    Should be 1-0!

Swansea striker Michael Obafemi does everything right as he shows a lovely touch to beat Curtis Nelson but, with a clear sight of goal, he drags his shot wide.

The early red card has changed the mood of this game.

Cardiff had caused a few problems in the opening stages, pressing high and knocking Swansea out of their stride.

But Callum Robinson's premature exit means the Bluebirds are now being more cautious, allowing Swansea to spend time on the ball - which is just how they like it.

Cardiff's 10 players look like having to put in a big shift thanks to what was a needless sending off.

    Watford 1-0 Luton

Luton have responded well to going behind, with Allan Campbell and Luke Freeman going close for the visitors.

Goal scorer Keinan Davis then broke from the midfield and had another go at goal, forcing Ethan Horvath into a brilliant save down to his left.

Ismaila Sarr just went down in the box calling for a penalty after a neat through ball from Davis, nothing doing for the referee.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff have switched to a 4-4-1 formation with Callum O'Dowda their lone-attacker.

Swansea are continuing to attack, with Luke Cundle's cross cut out by Ryan Allsop.

The game plan goes out the window now, whatever game plan Mark Hudson had, that has to change.

Swansea are just going to dictate the play now, it's like a training ground exercise it's how clinical Swansea can be and how organised Cardiff can stay.

Swansea are on the attack now, Cardiff are struggling stop their relentless possession.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

It's the most blatant red card you will ever see.

He's just completely lost his head.

Now Cardiff must play for basically the whole game with 10 men.

Callum Robinson enters the south Wales derby history books for all the wrong reasons.

Complete stupidity from Callum Robinson, this is something Cardiff City have had an issue with all season, it's about controlling you emotions.

  13. RED CARD - Callum Robinsonpublished at 6 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

    What is Callum Robinson doing?

He just threw the ball in Ben Cabango's face!

    He's sent off, rightly.

Completely unnecessary from the Cardiff forward.

GOAL: Watford 1-0 Lutonpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 23 October 2022

    Keinan Davis (3 min)

What a start for the hosts!

Keinan Davis clips in a with a wonderful acrobatic finish from Hassane Kamara's cross.

We'd barely settled down into our seats for this one and Watford have the lead.

How will Luton respond with their seven-game unbeaten run under early threat?

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff have started brightly and Ben Cabango just had to be alert to cut out a cross.

The Bluebirds were, if we are honest, pitiful in the two games against Swansea last season, but they have started well.

Referee Darren Bond, who looks shaken, but not stirred by the raucous atmosphere at the Swansea.com Stadium, gets us under way.

What's the over/under on the amount of bad Bond puns I'm liable to do today? It's frightening really, but I suppose writing these live pages is a pretty odd job.

But seriously, the early kick-off doesn't appear to have diluted the atmosphere in Swansea. The stage is set.
