Tottenham striker Harry Kane has scored eight goals in nine Premier League games this season, but is yet to score in the 2022-23 Champions League.

"I want to score in every game and I've been disappointed not to score yet," said Kane.

"It's a really important game and we're at a big stage in the group with two home games coming up. We have spoken about how important it is to win."

Among English players who have scored at least 10 goals in the Champions League, Kane has the best minutes-per-goal ratio (118 - 20 goals in 27 appearances).

The surprise story of the group stages - as Club Bruges book their place in the last 16, with two games to spare.

Their 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid is enough to get the job done.

Atletico, Porto and Bayer Leverkusen are all separated by a point behind them.

Napoli cruise into the knockout stages with a 4-2 victory over Ajax to take them onto a maximum 12 points from four games.

Liverpool and Ajax are probably battling it out for second place now.

Napoli are surely there now. Victor Osimhen has just put them 4-2 up against Ajax with three minutes to go after some comedy defending from Daley Blind.

Club Bruges are within five minutes of booking a place in the last 16...

But they will have to see it out with 10 men. Kamal Sowah has been shown a second yellow card in their game at Atletico Madrid. It remains 0-0.

Spurs have had a good start to the season, sitting third in the Premier League and second in this Champions League group.

They cannot progress today though.

Their form has slightly dipped recently with two wins, a draw and two defeats in their past five games.

Ex-Spurs man Steven Bergwijn has given Ajax hope with a penalty. Napoli still lead 3-2 though.

Tottenham Hotspur are second favourites to reach the Champions League knockout stages from Group D behind Sporting.

Spurs have 70% chance of playing in the last 16 according to Gracenote's Euro Club Index, external. Victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, who we rate at about the level of West Ham United, will keep Tottenham well on course to progress.

The Spurs story of the week is undoubtedly the suggestion that Google could be in the frame to sponsor Enic’s lavish arena which currently trades under somewhat of a holding title: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Securing the mooted £25m-a-year naming rights has not been straightforward. Daniel Levy has wrestled internally and sought to outsource the task without success over the years.

Back in 2019, head of THFC’s business development Aidan Mullally stated: “It is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start, during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the US.”

Beyond the bold nature of suddenly citing Spurs as an "anchor tenant”, this also highlighted the considerable complexity of the offer.

Rock concerts, NFL games, rugby union games and, of course, football matches provide any sponsor with far greater parameters than any other English football club might present.

Perhaps this has been an issue.

On the pitch, Tottenham may be unsuccessful using football’s conventional metrics, yet Levy has this behemoth of a commercial opportunity to maximise.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte said they made the decision not to risk Dejan Kulusevski tonight even though he's almost ready.

The winger injured his hamstring with Sweden last month and has missed Spurs' last three games.

Conte said: "He's almost ready. He had an MRI scan and that was positive.

"I spoke to the doctors and they said we could have 5% of risk if he played.

"It would be stupid to take the risk and lose him for the rest of the games and I don't want to take any risk as he's an important player."

Barcelona could go OUT of the Champions League tonight.

If they lose at home to Inter Milan and Bayern Munich get a point or more against Viktoria Plzen, Barca are done.

Bayern and Inter could both book their last 16 places.

Spurs can't go through or out. Rangers will be out if they lose to Liverpool.

Napoli lead Ajax 3-1 now with the Georgian Messi Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hammering in a top-notch penalty after a VAR handball decision.

There are two 17:45 BST kick-offs today - and two teams who could book their place in the knockout stages with a point.

Napoli - at home to Ajax - and surprise package Club Bruges - at Atletico Madrid - only need a draw to be sure of the last 16.

Napoli are leading 2-0, so they appear to be cruising through, and so far, so good for Bruges - who are goalless in Madrid.
