I'm looking forward to this one. It looks like a quick surface so I'd want to be Charlie Wyke tonight with crosses coming into the box. It should be a very tasty fixture.

There was a strange anomaly during Wigan's most recent home game at the DW Stadium.

The club played Saturday's defeat by Cardiff with one goal approximately two inches taller than the other.

The clubs and match officials agreed the game should go ahead as neither team would gain an advantage.

"I did ask if we could attack that end in both halves but they weren't having that," said Cardiff boss Mark Hudson.

Following the match, the EFL said they would contact Wigan for their observations.

Wigan Athletic striker Charlie Wyke has had a pretty rough time of things in the past year, having suffered a cardiac arrest after collapsing in training last November.

The 29-year-old returned in time for this season, having missed the tail end of their League One title-winning 2021-22 campaign.

He sealed his first goal since his return when he found the net against Cardiff on Saturday and was delighted.

"It's a great feeling. I can't describe it," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It's an unbelievable feeling. The first objective was just to come back and play games but now I'm in the swing of things, I just want to score as many as I can and thankfully I got one today."
