Spurs try to get something going for the first time in this game, in the 11th minute. Lucas Moura puts a decent ball forward but Harry Kane dummies it with Son Heung-min not able to get it.

Well, this has been a very lively opening 10 minutes.

The ball is being zipped about by both sides.

And there's a blustery wind just to liven it up that bit more.

Not for the first time in his career, Eric Bailly is injured. The Marseille defender is replaced by Samuel Gigot.

This is a good start from the home side but that shot was well wide.

Napoli scream for a penalty.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is lightning and he burns away down the left. Ibrahima Konate comes across and leans an arm across the forward to send him down. The ref waves it away.

Antonio Conte will be worried by what he's seeing so far. Marseille are flying early doors as Alexis Sanchez shoots wide from distance.

Marcos Alonso puts Barcelona ahead at Viktoria Plzen in a game which means absolutely nothing. He slides in a loose ball on the line.

Trent Alexander-Arnold does really well to stay strong in a challenge on the edge of his own box to stop Khvicha Kvaratskhelia getting in. You don't want to give the Georgian a sniff of goal.

This is exactly what Spurs wanted to avoid with a winner against Sporting last week. There is a very partisan vibe at the Velodrome.

Jonathan Clauss skips past a Spurs defender too easily and has a low cross held by Hugo Lloris.

Fabinho gets away with one.

He sticks a meaty challenge in and catches a Napoli man in midfield. It's as clear a foul as you're going to see. No booking, though.

Fabinho has been getting some stick of late. He could really do with an authoritative display.

Liverpool open the Napoli defence up as Trent Alexander-Arnold finds Mohamed Salah, who pokes a ball through for Curtis Jones to chip over the advancing keeper but on to the roof of the net.

Really lively start to the game. Can they keep that kind of tempo up though? We shall find out.

James Milner is a man for the big occasion. So much experience.

He cuts inside and digs out a cross but Napoli clear.

Loud cheers from the Marseille fans every time one of the players in white (Marseille are in white...) do anything.

Matteo Guendouzi wins the ball and charges forward but Nuno Tavares can't control his cross.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa tries to scamper on to a pass into the box but Alisson is out to dive at his feet and gather.

Harry Kane is making his 30th appearance in the Champions League tonight, with the England striker scoring 21 goals in his first 29 games.

Only Erling Haaland (28 goals in 23 apps), Ruud van Nistelrooy (26 goals in first 30 apps) and Filippo Inzaghi (25 in first 30 apps) have netted more goals in their first 30 games in the competition’s history.

One thing we know for sure, Napoli will be here to play. Absolutely drenched in confidence, this Italian side.
