This Anfield crowd has come to life now, spurred on by the home side looking to seize control on the pitch.

Play shifts immediately down the other end and Mohamed Salah sets up Thiago for a curling shot that Alex Meret dives to push away.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris boots the ball out of play so they can make this change.

Yves Bissouma replaces Son Heung-min, who can't play on after that bang to the head. Tactical switch needed.

Although Son is such an important player I don't think he should be allowed to carry on playing and they should make a change now I think.

SteveK: You look at the Spurs bench and realise it’s the guys on the pitch who are going to have to get the result. Not a lot of strength in depth

I think Son Heung-min's day is over here. He walks down the tunnel looking very groggy, with the help of a phsyio, and he's holding his face too.

Son Heung-min is still getting patched up. It was Chancel Mbemba who caught him, maybe with his shoulder.

Sadly for Spurs they don't have a whole load of quality options on the bench with Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski injured.

Nice Liverpool play down the right.

Roberto Firmino finds James Milner, who drives a low ball into the middle only for Napoli to clear once more.

That's quite a knock on the side of Son's head so this might take a while.

Laurence: Has anyone told the Spurs players this is a really important game and that their fans expect some effort from them?

Mike: Conte has no plan B. Being negative is all he knows. Spurs are playing like they have been the last few weeks and been slated for it.

The last thing Spurs want to see is Son Heung-min down. He's clattered in an aerial clash and the physios are on,
