FT: Bristol Rovers 0-2 Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood are in the third round for the third successive season after knocking out Bristol Rovers from two divisions above.

The National League side dumped out then-Championship side Bournemouth on their way to the fifth round last season.

Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard said:

"I couldn't be more proud of my players, many of whom helped us earn a trip to Everton in the fifth round last season.

"What we achieved then was magical, but to be in the third round again is unbelievable - they have risen to every challenge.

"I'd have taken a draw just so we were in the hat, but the players delivered and I'm ecstatic.

"To have beaten a team that have been formidable at home of late is a brilliant achievement."

Bristol Rovers were victims of one of the biggest shocks of this season's FA Cup second round, losing 2-0 at home to Boreham Wood as the non-league side made it through to round three for the second successive season.

Bristol Rovers defender James Connolly told BBC Radio Bristol:

"It felt quite quite flat out there. We maybe could have started a bit faster and the goals were from two set-pieces.

"We spoke in the week that it was going to be their game plan, FA Cup, they were going to come with set-pieces. I think that's probably the only way they could have hurt us.

"We made a few poor decisions and we weren't strong enough. They had a good shape, they were always going to sit behind the ball, we expected that.

"We won't change mindset-wise, it was just an off day. Everyone has them."

It's been a good performance from Ipswich. It was quite frustrating for the first 20 minutes but you have to give credit to Buxton, they defended their box really well.

But it seemed only a matter of time before Ipswich got the first goal and it's been a comfortable half.

Buxton haven't really threatened the Ipswich goal and it's been a professional performance and they have dominated possession.

The game's not finished - 2-0 is a funny score - Ipswich have to come out and dominate the ball again as they did in the first half and I'm sure they will be fine.

(Buxton boss) Jamie Vermiglio has some work to do at half-time. I'm sure he will be happy with their work and endeavour but they need to keep the ball better.

They just keep giving it back to Ipswich, who are constantly on the attack.

Job almost done for the League One side here.

Goals from Conor Chaplin and Gassan Ahadme have the Blues in cruise control in the rain at Portman Road.

The National League North side have scarcely have barely threatened.

Another good goal from Ipswich. Chaplin slid a great ball down the left for Edwards, he beat his man, crossed it in and Ahadme has turned it in from close range, I think with his chest or his stomach - it doesn't really matter.

Buxton have caused their own downfall. When you set up with five at the back and drop so deep, and the ball is dropping in your box, it's going to cause problems.

Ipswich have got too much space to keep moving the ball and when Buxton get it they have no-one to hit.

LONG way back from here for the non-league side.

Decent work from Kyle Edwards and his cross is bundled in from very close range by Gassan Ahadme for his first goal for Ipswich.

Everyone was expecting a cross, Chaplin has stood still, Burns has seen it, cut the ball back into his feet, he's turned and finished it. A really good goal from Ipswich.

It was a lovely finish and nothing more than Ipswich have deserved with their passing and the way they have kept the ball, even if it was the first real opportunity they have had.

Now Buxton have got to concentrate and make sure this doesn't free wheel into more goals.

Right. NOW there is a breakthrough for Ipswich then.

Well taken finish from Conor Chaplin for his first goal since 13 September.

It's a good attempt on his weaker foot. He's hit it on the half-volley from 20-yards or so. it was always rising but it never really threatened the goal.

    FT: Ebbsfleet 0-1 Fleetwood

Ebbsfleet must turn their attention back to their National League South title challenge after coming up just short at home to League One Fleetwood.

Ebbsfleet boss Dennis Kutrieb told BBC Radio Kent:

"We lost the game, so I can’t say I’m proud, but the players should be proud, they gave it a good go. One mistake punished us, we had the better chances and we deserved to get something out of the game - but you don’t always get what you deserve.

"We had a good game today, but, for me as a person, I can’t be proud if we get a defeat. Maybe in a few weeks I’ll be proud. We will see.

"You need to be ruthless if you play against League One opposition, if you don’t take chances you can’t win.

"If you make mistakes against good teams you get punished and that is what they have done, so congratulations to them. The luck was just not on our side today."

In the day's opening tie, League One Fleetwood got past National League South high-flyers Ebbsfleet thanks to Ged Garner's second-half strike.

Fleetwood manager Scott Brown told BBC Radio Lancashire:

“For us the main thing was to get through to the third round. We know there’s going to be upsets in this tournament and today we are just glad, on telly, that it wasn’t us.

"Did we play our best? No. But we managed to get through, sometimes you have got to just grind out results like that away from home.”

Buxton have defended their own box quite well, they have two big centre halves and the whole back four is quite tall. Ipswich have to move it on the deck a little bit more, for me, rather than just crossing it in to their big lads.
