Cam Norman floats a cross into the Derby box and it's met at the far post but it goes out for a goal kick.

In the process, however, Declan Drysdale and Korey Smith are down and receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, Smith is replaced by Jason Knight while James Collins makes way for Will Osula as Derby make a double change.

    Buxton 2-0 Merthyr Town

Buxton will be backed by big travelling support when they travel down from Derbyshire to Suffolk today.

The non-league side are on the up after some tough years and it's perhaps not a huge surprise that a potential FA Cup shock and place in the hat for round three alongside the Premier League big boys would mean more to some of them than an England victory out in Qatar.

Head of community engagement at the club Chris Hill said: "I've been a fan for 30 years.

"We've been in the doldrums so just to be in that hat on Monday, alongside Man United and Man City, would be amazing.

"I'd take Buxton in the third round all day long."

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2022

    Newport 1-1 Derby

We're an hour into this tie and we've finally seen the first yellow card.

Korey Smith is booked for a cynical foul on Nathan Moriah-Welsh as Newport broke on the counter.

    Newport 1-1 Derby

    Amazing.

Conor Hourihane fires goalbound from the edge of the Newport box but his Derby team-mate David McGoldrick gets in the way of it going in, sparing keeper Joe Day's blushes.

Meanwhile, on the rebound Max Bird tries his luck but he's flagged offside.

It's been a big improvement from Derby and they've got what they've deserved. They have come out with a different mindset.

Louie Sibley showed quality there and bent a lovely ball into the bottom corner.

    Newport 1-1 Derby

My word that goal has cracked the atmosphere up a notch!

What a cup tie! David McGoldrick, soon after the restart, slots a through ball to Lewis Dobbin who wins a corner as Newport are forced into a swift clearance.

The corner is sent in and Will Evans tries to clear it, but the ball rebounds off McGoldrick and almost in the near post were it not for Newport keeper Joe Day's reactions in putting a foot in to block it away on the goalline.

    Louie Sibley (54 mins)

Will Evans and Omar Bogle play a neat one-two together on the verge of the Derby box but the Rams clear their lines.

They swiftly race into the Newport half and Louie Sibley curls home from the corner of the Exiles' box.

    What a sensational finish!

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2022

    Newport 1-0 Derby

    How are Derby not level?!

Tom Barkhuizen puts a fantastic ball into the box which is fired wide before Barkhuizen shoots on the rebound.

It's saved and eventually the ball is worked to David McGoldrick who forces a last-ditch save from Newport keeper Joe Day.

Our final tie of the weekend pits together two sides from different sides of the tracks.

Former Uefa Cup winners Ipswich Town will hope to make light work of a Buxton side, who are 19th in National League North.

Bucks assistant manager Tommy Miller had three spells with the Portman Road side as a player and is now hoping to help his current side achieve what would be a famous upset at the League One leaders.

"Every year there is a team that gets drawn against a bigger team. There is always one team that gets a run, makes a bit of history and Buxton have done that," he told BBC Sport.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2022

    Newport 1-0 Derby

The first half draws to a close at a pretty wet and miserable Rodney Parade.

Whereas the late November weather might be drab, this FA Cup tie is anything but.

Priestley Farquharson's 40th-minute header has given Newport the lead over Derby and the makings of a decent cup scalp.

A big second half awaits for both sides.

  16. Postpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2022

    Newport 1-0 Derby

Brief break in play as Derby keeper Joe Wildsmith has a bloodied right elbow.

Not sure when that happened exactly and whether it was in the build up to Priestley Farquharson's goal, but he did seem to collide with the post in the process of trying to make a save.

It's been an afternoon to forget as far as Rovers are concerned.

Not good enough is the final analysis. Rovers made a better fist of it after the break but struggled to threaten the visitors' goal.

    Breakthrough!

Cracking goal and a great time to score. Newport lead Derby just before the break and it comes via a free-kick into the box.

It comes in from the right from Aaron Lewis and is headed home at the far post by Priestley Farquharson.

Oof, Newport dispossess Derby on the counter and work a shot away soon after.

But Cam Norman's effort on goal is well saved by Derby keeper Joe Wildsmith.

    Beware the giantkillers.

National League Boreham Wood reach the third round of the FA Cup for the third successive season.

League One Bristol Rovers had been struggling with illness in the camp this week and they certainly struggled on the pitch today.

First-half goals from Will Evans and David Stephens did the job for Wood, who will now hope for a big-money tie in the next round.
