Great chance for the away side!

Tyler Smith is played in on the angle by Greg Docherty but Daniel Bachmann does well in the home goal to turn his near post shot around the upright.

The home side get us back under way.

Hopefully a bit more to talk about in this second half.

Just as the Watford v Hull game was getting under way, League One MK Dons announced they had sacked their head coach Liam Manning.

The 37-year-old had been in charge for more than a year, but Saturday's defeat by Fleetwood left them 23rd in the table.

They've also only won once at home in the league all season, all the way back in August.

I'll be polite and say it has been a largely uneventful first 45 minutes...

Not really sure what else to say.

Watford had the best chance of the half when Joao Pedro forced a decent low save from Matt Ingram in the Hull City goal after the visitors had got caught out trying to play out from the back.

Hornets midfielder Hamza Chourhury and Hull winger Dimitrios Pelkas were both forced off early on after a 50-50.

  6. Postpublished at 45+3 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Hull ending the half with a bit of territory down by the Watford goal.

    Can they fashion an opening?

No, they pass it straight out of play.

  7. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

    Five minutes added on.

To be fair, I thought there was going to be a bit more than that after the injury hold ups at the start.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

The game is finally starting to come to life a little as we head towards the break.

Cyrus Christie becomes the third Hull player booked as he cynically pulls back Ken Sema, who had done him with a lovely dummy.

  9. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

    Bit better.

Hull pick up a loose ball about 30 yards out and Regan Slater does well to create a shooting opportunity for himself but his low drive from 20 yards is straight at Daniel Bachmann in the Hull goal.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 36 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Hull City captain Jacob Greaves is in the book for a trip on Joe Hungbo out on the touchline.

Second booking for the away side.

  11. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Watford are starting to get more on top here.

A win for the home side today would see them go from sixth to third.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 30 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Well, what did I just say about Hull playing out from the back?

A dreadful attempted pass by Jean Michael Seri is intercepted and Joao Pedro plays a nice one-two with Keinan Davis before forcing a quality low save from Matt Ingram in the Hull City goal.

  13. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

First real bit of goalmouth action.

Cyrus Christie plays a clever reverse pass into the area for Tyler Smith and his shot is blocked behind for a corner to the away side.

The ball in goes out of play before coming back in, which sort of sums up this match so far.

  14. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Hull are absolutely committed to playing out from the back under new boss Liam Rosenior.

Right now I would say that... it could do with some more work.

  15. Postpublished at 24 mis

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Hull win the first corner of the game and then a second from the first one.

It reaches Tigers skipper Jacob Greaves at the back post but it skews off his head and goes well wide.

  16. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

    Urgh.

Hull pinch the ball about 30 yards from their own goal and look to spring a counter.

Watford get back well though and Ryan Woods just shanks a pass out for a throw in to the home side.

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Those two early injuries have really stopped this game building any kind of momentum.

We're yet to have a shot of any nature.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

    Ooft.

Crunching challenge on Watford's star forward Joao Pedro by Ryan Woods sees the Hull man booked.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

Watford finally take Hamza Choudhury off and Joe Hungbo is on in his stead.

  20. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Watford 0-0 Hull City

I've got no idea why Hamza Choudhury is trying to carry on for Watford.

He is hobbling about the place and looks in serious discomfort.

And... as I type that he sits on the ground and his afternoon is surely over.
