  1. Postpublished at 10 mins

    QPR 0-0 Burnley

The centre halves dropping short to play out from the back, full-backs pushing very high up the pitch, players working the ball through the thirds.

Burnley really are a totally different side to the type we got used to in the Sean Dyche years.

  2. Postpublished at 7 mins

    QPR 0-0 Burnley

Good passing from Burnley and it eventually wins them a corner.

Nothing comes of it though as it's cleared and Vitinho's low ball is gathered by Seny Dieng.

  3. CLOSE!published at 1 min

    QPR 0-0 Burnley

And an immediate chance for Burnley at the other end after 45 seconds!

Aro Muric launches a goal kick into the opposite half and through the home defence for Nathan Tella to run onto the ball.

But the on-loan Southampton player can't lift the ball high enough over Seny Dieng when one-on-one with the goalkeeper and the chance is missed.

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 1 min

    QPR 0-0 Burnley

20 seconds into the game and we have a big penalty appeal!

George Thomas advances into the box and goes down as goalkeeper Aro Muric comes out to stop him.

Referee Peter Bankes is not convinced, but replays show that Muric got none of the ball and plenty of Thomas' leg. No VAR to check in the Championship, of course.

Maybe the early timing was a big factor in QPR not getting the decision.

  9. Moroccans still in Qatarpublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

    QPR v Burnley (13:00GMT)

The Championship's month-long break for the World Cup was taken in the likelihood that any player from this division involved in Qatar would probably be home by now.

And certainly nobody expected Morocco to be in the semi-finals.

As a result, QPR midfielder Ilias Chair and Burnley winger Anass Zaroury are unavailable for this one.

However, neither man has played a single minute as the Atlas Lions have become the first African country to reach the World Cup's last four.

The big news at QPR during the winter break was the departure of head coach Michael Beale to Rangers.

Coming only a month after Beale had said that he could not leave to fill the vacancy at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, this was a sore one for Hoops fans to accept.

They also went into the month off on the back of a poor run of one point in five games, which pushed them from first to ninth.

For this game with the leaders, Paul Hall is in interim charge. Three points off Burnley would be one hell of a statement on his part.

  11. Can Kompany's Clarets pick up where they left off?published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

    QPR v Burnley (13:00GMT)

After Sheffield United's 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town yesterday, Burnley have been joined at the top by the Blades.

Victory or a draw at Loftus Road will restore their points lead and Vincent Kompany will be hoping his players can hit the ground running again and find their form that saw them lose just one of their last 20 games.

After all the new arrivals in the summer following relegation, the Clarets have really gelled and they are now favourites to win the division and make an immediate return to the Premier League.

  12. Championship Sundaypublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

    QPR v Burnley (13:00 GMT)

So as England fly back from Qatar after last night's quarter-final defeat by France, let's try and take your mind off that loss for a few hours.

We have two Championship games for you as four teams get back to action after a month off.

First up, we have leaders Burnley travelling to QPR at 13:00 GMT, with Watford's home game against Hull to follow straight after at 15:00.

Settle back, relax and here's hoping for a cracking few hours of football.
