Scotland's dream of reaching the World Cup was quashed by Ukraine at Hampden back in June.

Steve Clarke's side then went W4 D1 L1 to top their Nations League group, which guarantees the safety net of a play-off for Euro 2024.

Tonight's match is the last outing for Scotland before qualifying for that tournament begins in March.

Our Group A opponents are Spain, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus.

  9. 'Hostile friendly' in storepublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2022

    Turkey v Scotland (17:00)

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland in Diyarbakir

You know when you turn up for a friendly and feel it won’t be that competitive, the crowd will be slightly disinterested and it will all be fairly meaningless?

That’s not the feeling I’m getting sitting in the Diyarbikar Stadium tonight – not whatsoever.

This is the first ever international here, a very big event for a city two hours south east of Istanbul and closer to Baghdad and Tehran than to Istanbul itself.

It means a lot to these locals for this game to be here.

It's not full but the volume is turned up full blast to present a very testing environment for this Scotland side.

A tried and tested line-up for Scotland.

Billy Gilmour gets some much-needed game time since the midfielder has been cooling his heels on the Brighton bench.

It looks like another wing-back shift for Ryan Fraser, who's not been a regular for high-flying Newcastle either.

And Grant Hanley is back in central defence after missing the last three internationals.
