    Gillingham 1-1 Dag & Red

Referee Thomas Kirk is letting the game flow despite some strong challenges, which is what most of us fans like to see.

Non-league Dagenham are having the lion's share of the ball, without really hurting Gillingham.

    Gillingham 1-1 Dag & Red

I'll be honest, this tie has been more entertaining than I thought it would be.

Josh Hare puts in an excellent cross from the right for Dagenham but no-one is in the box to attack it.

You can see a bit more of a spring in Gillingham's step and confidence since their goal.

That's what a goal can do for a team.

We have a break in play as Gillingham's Lewis Walker is patched up after a facial injury.

Play continues with an uncontested drop ball.

Gillingham score a rare goal and are level.

From another corner centre-back Elkan Baggott, on loan from Ipswich, leaps above Dagenham keeper Elliot Justham to head home.

The goalkeeper has to be stronger but for Baggott it's a third goal of the season.

    Gillingham 0-1 Dag & Red

The hosts work half an opening as they look for a way back into this tie, Ben Reeves' strike from outside the box deflected behind for a corner.

A second corner follows, which Dagenham keeper Elliot Justham confidently claims.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22 mins

    Gillingham 0-1 Dag & Red

This game is following an all to familiar pattern for Gillingham.

They'd threatened early on but fail to take their chances and find themselves chasing the game.

Gills full-back David Tutonda is booked for a late lunge out wide.

    Matt Robinson

The National League side lead the League Two side and it's a lovely crisp strike from Matt Robinson.

The ball sits up nicely for the midfielder, who shows great technique to drill the ball low into the net from about 20 yards out.

As it stands Dagenham would be hosting Premier League side Leicester in round three.

Neil Harris will be really happy with how his Gillingham players look going forward.

They've had a couple dodgy moments at the back, but very positive overall I feel.

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

There aren't too many inside the Priestfield Stadium, understandable given the temperature and Gillingham's desperate form.

A cluster of Dagenham fans can be heard singing their hearts out, however, as they seek to become the lowest-ranked side in the third round.

  12. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

Lewis Walker gets in front of his marker at the near post to get on the end of a low David Tutonda cross, but a Dagenham defender blocks his effort behind for a corner.

    The set-piece is headed clear.

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

Both sides are looking ropey at the back.

Gillingham have been extraordinarily short of goals this season, so should see this as a chance to bag a couple but Dagenham will be thinking the same...

  14. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

    It's mayhem here already.

Gillingham win a corner which falls kindly for Elkan Baggott, whose volley is hacked off the line by visiting defender Harry Phipps.

How is this one still goalless?!

"I think Johnson and Walker were caught by surprise with just how much time they had in front of goal."

  16. CLOSE!published at 3 mins

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

Calamitous Gillingham defending but they get away with it!

It's an under hit backpass which finds its way to Josh Walker in the box, but the Dagenham striker scuffs his shot agonisingly wide.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Gillingham 0-0 Dag & Red

Our referee is Thomas Kirk - he blows his whistle and we're up and running on a very chilly Kent evening.

I think everyone will be thankful this is an earlier kick-off than usual.

    Gillingham v Dag & Red (19:15 GMT)

Just 13 places separate these sides in the English pyramid, with Gillingham enduring a horrid campaign in League Two.

The Gills - managed by former Millwall striker and boss Neil Harris - have only two wins and six goals to their name in the league this season, leaving them in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Daryl McMahon's Dagenham, meanwhile, are mid-table in the National League but only four points from the play-offs as they seek a return to the Football League.
