At the minute, Sheffield Wednesday are competing. They've got to enjoy the ball when they get it. They must be thinking 'how do we stop Newcastle?' Well they're giving away far too many free-kicks.

  14. 'We only have ourselves to blame'published at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Blackpool 4-1 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I think we have got ourselves to blame, so we have to accept the scoreline because of the individual errors we made for their goals and the chances we missed.

"We can have no excuses for the result. You can't give away the chances we did and miss the chances we had and expect to get a positive result. Even when we went 2-0 down I thought we were still in the game but we didn't show enough fight to get back into the game, we went down too easily and that was just as disappointing as the chances we missed today and the ones we gave away.

"Just because someone did well or poorly today, it doesn't necessarily impact the next game because it will depend on the game plan and what we need. It is hard to say if someone played well when you lose 4-1."
