    Blackpool 1-0 Nottingham Forest

    Charlie Adam
Former Blackpool midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Poor defending from Nottingham Forest, it looks like a team who haven't played together very much.

Good finish from Ekpiteta. Blackpool have started the game well and they deserve the gaol with the shots and the chances they have had. He finishes it well.

Poor poor defending from Nottingham Forest. It's a good finish but a poor header from O'Brien who heads it into the six yard box instead of away from danger.

    Bournemouth 1-1 Burnley

    Close!

Burnley, looking to restore their lead, work the ball wide left for Anass Zaroury, who cuts inside, gets the ball out of his feet and then whips a curling shot just past the far post.

    Blackpool lead!

It's really poor defending from Nottingham Forest following a corner but Marvin Ekpiteta takes full advantage as he slots in to put the Championship side in front following a positive start.

    Blackpool 0-0 Nottingham Forest

It wouldn't be Blackpool without a few seagulls flying across in front of the TV camera every now and again.

It's all very even so far at Bloomfield Road. CJ Hamilton gets behind but the Forest defence recovers well.

Boreham Wood with a poor start they needed to get something to cling on to and make sure they are hard to beat but that will be disappointing for them.

    Chuba Akpom

    Boro are level!

Brighton clear one Boro attack down the left but the home side keep up the pressure, work it left again for a chipped cross that the in-form Chuba Akpom rises to nod in.

Jason Steele scrambled to try and keep it out but the ball found its way home.

    Hull City 0-0 Fulham

Dan James goes down in the Hull City penalty area as he battles with Lewie Coyle for a cross but the referee isn't interested and James doesn't complain, which tells us all we need to know.

    Ryan Christie

Bournemouth have a goal! It is there first since mid-November!

Burnley have gift wrapped it for them. Trying to play out from the back, Josh Cullen's loose pass into the most dangerous of areas bang in front of his own goal gives Ryan Christie a finish into a largely unguarded net.

What a start to this game!

Lovely work from Karlan Grant and he picks a great cross out. It's great movement from Brandon Thomas-Asante but that finish is so clinical.

You just see in that transition moment, their first thought is to play forward as quickly as possible and unbalance the Bournemouth back line. It is a great finish from Manuel Benson who is going away from goal.

Good play from Blackpool, they put the ball in the box. Husband will be disappointed really, he had an opportunity to score a goal. Unfortunately for Blackpool, it went past the post.

  17. goal

GOAL - Middlesbrough 0-1 Brightonpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Pascal Gross

Brighton took charge of this game from the off and now they lead.

A fine move sees Evan Ferguson set up Solly March for a shot that home keeper Zack Steffen does superbly to save. But Pascal Gross is the quickest man to the loose ball and his shot finds the net.

  18. CLOSE!published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Blackpool 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Michael Appleton's Blackpool are winless in nine games and sit 22nd in the Championship.

A win today over Premier League opposition really could kick their campaign back into life, as Charlie Adam says.

And that is very nearly the opener! James Husband is played in to the left of the six-yard box and flashes a shot across Wayne Hennessey's goal. The Forest goalkeeper is left rooted to the spot but luckily for him Husband can't find the far corner.
