Tottenham striker Harry Kane, speaking to Sky Sports: "Really important. We have not had the best results in the last couple of games. Important game today, tough game away from home so nice to put that performance in.

"We started the game well, we started on the front foot. It was more just getting back to that, moving the ball quick and getting runs in behind.

"Great to keep a clean sheet and then it was down to the boys in the final third to make something happen and that is what we did.

"These are the games if you go 1-0 down you can find it difficult to get back into it. Really good win. The games are coming thick and fast."

On closing in on scoring records: "I try not to think about them. I am one of those who think if you think too much it can have the opposite effect. It was nice to get a couple of goals today."

I can't find but feel that Southampton are in this position down to themselves, they've been a selling club over the previous seasons. We've seen Danny Ings walk out, they have sold their whole left hand side of defence.

The only player that they have really kept hold off is Ward-Prowse in the centre of the pitch and when you constantly sell and not replacing with as good as players this is the position you find yourselves in.

Leeds United

Leeds goalscorer Wilfried Gnonto to BBC Match of the Day: "It's a great emotion, I am very happy for my first goal here in front of the fans. I dreamed a lot of this goal, I am very happy and proud.

"Of course I wanted the win, a win would have been even better but I'll take the point.

"We tried until the end but sometimes the ball won't go in."

All four of Nottingham Forest's Premier League wins so far this season have been 1-0, with Taiwo Awoniyi netting the winner in three of those.

All four of Taiwo Awoniyi's Premier League goals this season have been the opening goal of the goal. Only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane (5 each) have scored first in more different Premier League games this season.

This was Nottingham Forest's first away league win of the season, and first in the Premier League overall since May 1999 (2-1 vs Blackburn).

Harry Kane's instinctiveness to drag Tottenham from what had been a mediocre performance to suddenly having them firing on all cylinders. He was involved in the build up of all the goals, finishing off the first two himself and they're [Kane and Son] still not on that telepathy that we have been used to in recent seasons.

There's not many times tonight that they've picked each other out, so I wouldn't say back to their best by any means but attackers will always be ranked by the number of goals scored and Tottenham fans making their way out into the night are very very pleased to see Kane and Son back on the score sheet.

For the second time this season, but in a different league, it ends 1-1 between Unai Emery and Julen Lopetegui.

Nottingham Forest

Southampton manager Nathan Jones, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "I'm really disappointed. It was a big game for us. We started well, had a glorious chance to take the lead then we gifted them the goal and that's symptomatic of what has been happening over a long time.

"Then we didn't have enough quality to break Forest down. We tried to play with tempo but we didn't show enough quality and that's an issue. We have a lack of confidence and have to make sure we change that, that's just work and we worked hard tonight.

"The blame lies solely with me, I set them up, asked them to do certain things but we need to give ourselves a better opportunity to win the game. We can't gift a goal a game and we've done that almost every game. Something has to change quickly and we need a bit of luck.

"We need to be better. It's all on me, I fully take the blame for that. The crowd are frustrated, we're bottom of the Premier League and they want to see more quality. Pretty much everything we have to do better. We need a bit of help, a bit of quality and everyone is working hard to bring us that.

"We have to do certain things better. One, we have to keep clean sheets, two, take chances, three, show more bravery in the final third.

"We're in a situation that's not entirely of my doing. We've only won one game here and I understand the frustration. There's no lack of effort."

Nathan Jones is just the second manager to lose each of his first four Premier League games in charge of Southampton, after Nigel Adkins in the 2012-13 season.

Southampton have lost six consecutive Premier League games for the first time since February 2021, while they're without a clean sheet in 11 Premier League home games since beating Arsenal 1-0 in April last season.

More than that, Saints failed to have a single shot on target in a Premier League game for the second time this season (also vs Man City in October) - no side has failed to do so in more matches this term.

West Ham United

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski: "I'm not really satisfied with a point. We were in a very strong position after the second goal and an experienced team like we are, we should be doing a little bit more to keep the result.

"If you look at the whole situation we are in at the moment, we are desperate for points. I believe I made an important save for us as a group because it meant we broke our shameful losing record.

"Hopefully this point will give us confidence as we go into the next games.

"I believe we fought really hard, this is a difficult place to come, they make it it hard with all their energy.

"We wanted to show heart and the heart, fight and courage was there. Hopefully those characteristics will help us to build a bit more confidence going into he next games."

The point was a step in the right direction, but West Ham have now failed to win in their last 6 games in the Premier League.

their last longer winless streak was from 10th January 2020 to 24th February 2020, a run of 7 games.

Leeds United

Leeds goalscorer Rodrigo: "It's always difficult to win the games, we know the level of this league. We have to think positive, to me we had more chances to win the game.

"I had the final chance which was a really good save from the keeper, I thought I scored.

"We have to keep going and we look forward to the next one. We are looking forward to those challenges.

"All the games are important, we are competitors we want to win all the games. The level of the league is super high.

"We have to keep fighting, we deserved more but we will have to keep fighting."

Southampton

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse, on his side being booed off at half-time and again at the final whistle, said: "We as players know and understand their frustrations. They have to bear with us, it's a different squad to one we have had before.

"We're in early days with the manager and it's going to take a bit of time. Obviously time is not our friend and we need to turn it around quickly."

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "We didn't start the game too well in the first five minutes and gave a chance away but that got us into the game.

"We looked a real threat in the first half, we controlled the game and we wanted to keep that going. We haven't won away from home this year and we were desperate to get the three points.

"No shots on our goal for Dean [Henderson] and even though we defended deep I never thought we would concede. We defended set pieces very well and were more than good for the win. We showed everything in our game to get it.

"We've learned quickly that every game is a real challenge but I never felt we were going to concede, if anything I thought we might get the second.

"It's better to be out of the bottom three than in it for sure but it's one step at a time. I really challenged the players to get the first away win and challenged myself and the staff, we're all in it together.

"We had a couple of chances in the last two games to get out of the bottom three, now we're out, but the objective is not just to stay out but move up the table, but that's easier said than down and we will do everything we can to get results.

"There's a long way to go and tough moments make you stronger."
