GOAL - Aston Villa 1-1 Wolvespublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2023

    Danny Ings

    Villa's persistence pays off!

It is a brilliant run from Danny Ings to get in behind the Wolves defence and bring down Tyrone Mings' pinpoint pass.

He steadies himself and finishes with aplomb.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2023

Daniel: Saying sack Jones already is slightly unfair. What is he supposed to do with a club that played last season with no recognised front man, didn't address it in the transfer window and brought in a load of young, inexperienced players?

    Oh what a block!

Max Kilman comes from nowhere to get in front of an angled volley from Ludwig Augustinsson that was heading for the far corner. He flicks the ball away with his head! Brilliant defending!

Villa are throwing everything at this now.

Matt: I really think Saints might sack Jones! He has turned us into a long ball team from the 1980s, with one of the smallest teams in the league! Terrible tactics!

    Massive chance for Leeds!

Sam Greenwood's corner is met by the head of Liam Cooper and while his first effort is blocked on the line by Michail Antonio, the ball drops back to him for an effort he punts over the bar!

And there is the fourth as Son Heung-min gets back among the goals!

The South Korea forward is on the scoresheet for the first time since September in the Premier League as Marc Guéhi fails to deal with a high ball and Son pounces, his strike taking a deflection on its way into the back of the net.

Tom: What a second half this is for spurs, did not look like scoring in the first half at all. Could be 4/5 now. Clinical!

Villa have been reduced to hopeful shots from range.

They get a bit lucky with this one as Leon Bailey's soft effort takes a flick and runs away for a corner.

    Wolves deal with it, though.

Lee: I genuinely think Kane would be scoring more goals at City than Haaland, or pretty much anyone. Just consider how he's done this well, for this long, in this team. I'm a Spurs fan and it's sickening to think he'll be almost certainly leaving next season.
