    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

Harvey Barnes runs with the ball, Rodrigo Bentancur trips him. It's right on the edge of the box and it earns the Spurs man a yellow card and gives them something to worry about.

James Maddison will surely fancy this free-kick.

    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

Kelechi Iheanacho was superb at Villa last time out for Leicester.

His first involvement in the game sees him found on the left to run with the ball at his feet into the box. His effort is blocked, though, and Spurs clear.

  3. 'I think you saw the potential'published at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    FT: West Ham 1-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Graham Potter speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We played well, had good control, scored and looked to add to the goal.

"It was a generally positive performance in the first half. We were disappointed in the bit that we didn't that we conceded which obviously make it more difficult

"The second half was more of a reflection of where we are in terms of integrating new players and getting players up to speed in the Premier League.

"I think you saw the potential in the first half. You can’t control what people say from the outside, you see it how it is and carry on working. They are a good group and we are excited with the team and the potential but it is still a work in progress."

On Enzo Fernandez: "It is his second game, he is a young player but you can see his quality and his personality and like [Joao] Felix, [Noni] Madueke and [Mykhailo] Mudryk he will get better the more we understand them and they understand us. It is a process that you can’t really short circuit".

  4. 'I'd have taken a point'published at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    FT: West Ham 1-1 Chelsea

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “If you had given me a point after 20 minutes I’d have shook your hand and walked away. We didn’t start well and they were good but we made some basic errors defensively.

“Passing is really important but we never got enough. We worked our way back into it and were much better in the second half but in the first half we were well outplayed.

“I was hoping it was going to be our day but we had a couple of close calls as well. We take the point and it keeps a bit of a better run going right now."

Good early chance for Spurs to take the lead.

Leicester can't get the ball clear and Rodrigo Bentancur is set up on the edge of the box to side-foot an effort over the bar.

Jordan Ayew backheels it to Nathaniel Clyne on the right. He whips two crosses in, both blocked, as Palace start with intent.

We had eight goals the last time these two met, Spurs winning it 6-2 in London. We surely can't expect to be spoilt on that level again can we?

The St Mary's brass band try to lift spirits by tooting out a typically-jaunty rendition of club anthem 'When The Saints Go Marching In'.

The home fans respond with a loud chorus as the two teams walk out of the tunnel.

Unity for now, but you feel the mood will turn very quickly if Wolves go ahead...

The pressure is well and truly on Nathan Jones today.

His rock-bottom Southampton side are back in front of their home fans a week after chants of "Nathan Jones, get out of our club" could be heard from the away section in the 3-0 loss at Brentford.

  11. 'A wonderful club'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Arsenal v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

    Julien Laurens
French football expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

They were very smart and wise at Brentford to tie Thomas Frank to a long-term deal. It's working so well, the chemistry between him, the club, the fans and the community.

You can see the bond they all have and the story is great. You can have one really good season as a promoted side in the Premier League but the difficulty is to have the second as good or even better and it's been even better.

Brentford do a lot with data and go in markets where other clubs do not know about, it's a wonderful club and doing really good things at the moment.

  12. 'You can be too honest'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Final Score

What you need to do is work on the training pitch. I think if Nathan Jones had got four or five good wins behind him and come out and been so candid... I think you can be too honest, certainly in public. I don't think the players need to hear it.

He questioned the fans a little bit as well, mixed messages and coming out and talking about how good he is, talking about Europe and his figures at Luton.

It's one of those that's he's done it now, move on and today is a very important day to get a result. This is a must-win match for this manager. His record since he's been there has been poor and he's up against a Wolves side that has just come back into form.

I want to see a reaction.

  13. 'We have to keep working'published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    FT: West Ham 1-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Graham Potter speaking to BT Sport: “I think you could see positives in the performances for us especially in the first half. It was a step forward for us in terms of the previous game and lots to go forward with.

"We are in a process where we are getting guys up to speed, guys match minutes so the ability to sustain what we want to do is the challenge for us so there were positives in the game.

“It looks it but these are the little things you need to go in your favour and at the moment they are not so that’s life there is nothing to complain about. We have to keep working. There were positives today and some good attacking moment from players adapting to the Premier League.

“We had real control of the game and it was a cheap goal from our perspective. That lifts the crowd and makes it more difficult but that is something we have to manage better. We will get better from the experience.”

  14. 'Sometimes you need that win'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Leicester v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Leicester City

Leicester's James Maddison on their 4-2 win at Aston Villa: "Sometimes you just need that win. It was almost a perfect win for us -a localish game, we scored four goals. That gives confidence. We had a good January, bringing new faces in and that gives us a lift anyway. It lifts the mood."

Former Leicester City defender Danny Simpson says Brendan Rodgers finally has the midfield balance he craved with new signings and the return of injured players.

Simpson still believes James Maddison is the key man in the middle of the pitch, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Wilfred Ndidi the best combination alongside him.

He told BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling podcast: "I’ve worked with Brendan and I know he always mentions the word balance, which is key in the way he likes to play.

"Ndidi is a massive miss, Kiernan has been injured as well. Maddison, for me, is the key to the link between defence and attack and the controlling of the game.

"Rodgers also talks about the aggression and legs, and I think Dewsbury-Hall brings that. The way he sets off a press - everyone follows him and I think the balance now looks better.

"I still think when Maddison is in the team, he gives everyone else confidence. Youri [Tielemans] has done so well since singing for the club, but Maddison has got that aura about him where everyone wants to give him the ball and he can grab a game by the scruff of the neck.

"If you can get Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall and Maddison, then that is a really solid central midfield that can work together as a triangle."

  16. 'You have to inspire the supporters' - Rodgerspublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Leicester v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

Brendon Rodgers says he wants his players to "inspire the supporters" in order to galvanise the Leicester team.

The Foxes have failed to win a Premier League home game since their 2-0 victory over Leeds in October.

"The supporters are everything in terms of galvanising the team," said Rodgers.

"You have to inspire the supporters, but last weekend we went behind and the supporters were still there. We want that to be the same at home. We want that intensity and passion. Having that connection is important."

Leicester host Tottenham on Saturday, who won the first league fixture between the sides 6-2.

He added: "You need to make sure the resting defence is in the right positions. We gave away too much from set-pieces. Against a team like Tottenham, who are very good when they break out, you have to make sure the team is set up well and slow down the counters.

"You want to go after the game, but you have to be really careful against Tottenham in that aspect. We scored goals and created more chances. If we can close the game, we have a great chance."

    • Leicester have kept just one clean sheet in their 16 Premier League home games against Tottenham, conceding at least once in each of the past 13 such meetings since a 3-0 win in September 1997.
    • Tottenham have won their last four Premier League games against Leicester, their best winning run against the Foxes in their league history.
    • Spurs striker Harry Kane has scored 18 goals in 15 Premier League games against Leicester, with only Alan Shearer netting more against a single opponent in the competition (20 v Leeds).

    Leicester v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

There is not one minute of any day when I wake up and look back at my career, and think ‘I wish I went to Man Utd because I would have won the Champions League or more medals’ Never, not once.

I look at Harry Kane and he has the Spurs record and will have a statue, he will get the England record and possibly get a statue at Wembley, he’s got a good chance he will get the Premier League record.

They are his medals and I totally understand the decision if he decides to stay at Spurs. If he does not win a trophy will not bother him one bit, because it does not bother me at all.

  19. 'Kane will score 300 Premier League goals'published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Leicester v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Football Focus

If he's not winning trophies then it is a trophy on its own, if he's going to score the most Premier League goals of all-time.

I do admire him staying at Spurs. I like the fact he's a one club man. But it is a big dilemma for him, surely he wants to win some trophies?

He's top class, he will take that record and then we won't have to talk about Alan Shearer anymore! I think he'll make 300 goals, without doubt.

  20. 'Kane in a league of his own'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

Harry Kane just does things so naturally, Alan Shearer did as well. He's chasing the Premier League record. He's in a league of his own.

You don't hit your peak until you're about 28. He's only had a couple of years at his peak.
