First little glimpse of Bournemouth going forward, but Dominic Solanke's attempted through-ball is cut out before it can reach Hamed Traore.

Southampton boss Nathan Jones, speaking to Sky Sports about the growing pressure: "I couldn't feel any more pressure than I have been under this week. We have to keep fighting.
"I'm really disappointed and frustrated. We created chances and we looked a proper team in the first half. We should be in control of the game with 10 men.
"We have to show a little bit more quality and killer instinct. We had 17 shots. We had a glorious chance to go 2-0 up. When we don't take that chance and put balls over the bar then it's always going to be tough."

Even with injuries to key players, you get the sense this is a well-drilled Newcastle side. People know their jobs and how to do them effectively.

With Bruno Guimaraes missing, Newcastle are lacking that bit of creative spark and quality. He is a fantastic all round midfielder and he gets on the ball and makes things happen.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Bournemouth do have pace in their forward line now. They will be hoping they can stay compact and break to hurt Newcastle. They're very much in '11 men behind the ball' mode at the moment, though.

When the ball goes in to Dominic Solanke, it's really important that his hold up play is good and allows Bournemouth to get bodies up the pitch.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Some clubs down at the bottom have started to make moves to pull themselves clear. Leicester and Wolves especially. Bournemouth really need to start picking up points to prevent being cast adrift with Southampton.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Newcastle are quickly into a high press, putting pressure on the Cherries defence. Neto is fortunate to get the ball away with Alexander Isak sniffing.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Both sides are wearing black armbands in respect to those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Christian Atsu, who spent time with both of these clubs, remain missing in the area.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Newcastle are straight on to the ball, getting a good feel for it in their own half. Think we're likely to see a lot more of the visitors on the ball than the home side here.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Six Premier League games down, one to go.
It is a big one for both sides and it is under way.

With two goals against Southampton in the EFL Cup, and an assist against West Ham last time out, Newcastle's Sean Longstaff has been involved in as many goals in his last two games as he had in his previous 38 in all competitions (1 goal, 2 assists).

Bournemouth are the only side yet to have at least 200 shots in the Premier League this season, with their 179 in total at least 31 fewer than any other side. At the other end, the Cherries have also faced more shots than any other side this term (341).

Bournemouth v Newcastle (17:30 GMT)
Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 16 Premier League games (W9 D7), the longest current run without defeat in the competition. The Magpies haven't conceded the first goal in any of their last 14 league games, with Bournemouth the last side to open the scoring against them back in September.
In contrast, Bournemouth have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games (D2 L9), beating Everton 3-0 in November. The Cherries are winless since the competition resumed after the World Cup (D1 L5), netting just one goal in this run.

Former England defender on Final Score
Without doubt, Brentford could easily won this game. That's five points dropped for Arsenal.
Over to Man City now tomorrow against Villa and then it's all to play for on Wednesday night and that gap could be down to zero.
It's not been a great week for Arsenal but credit to Brentford for the way they set up today, made it very difficult for Arsenal to break them down.

Former England defender on Final Score
It's a massive result for Brentford, they dug in deep today but they were good. They were quality, defensively solid and in attack they looked threatening.
Ivan Toney felt that they should have won the game and with the chances they had, arguably they probably should have.
FT: Crystal Palace 1-1 Brighton
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is our derby for the fans it's the biggest game of the year so it was nice to come out with a point. They give us a good game every time they play us, they have good players and a point was a reward for how hard we worked today.
"It was just nice to play. I haven't played too much this year. The adrenalin was pumping so it was nice to contribute.
"If you look at previous games we have worked hard but not got rewards."

So... it’s Valentine’s Day in a few days, and to be honest, it’s been a very difficult couple of months for you and your partner. While you seemed well matched at first, the spark has gone out of your relationship, and despite some expensive presents being gifted to you in January, you’re starting to wonder if you have a future together.
And to compound that... on Saturday, you will spend the afternoon watching the love of your life, now extremely happy in their new relationship, and the day can do nothing but remind you of happy times which feel a long time ago.
Those will be the sort of emotions experienced by Bournemouth’s fans on Saturday when club legend Eddie Howe returns to Vitality Stadium for the first time since his departure in 2020, as manager of a Newcastle United side riding high in the table.
The Covid-affected "Project Restart" conclusion to the 2019-20 season - played out behind closed doors - was a wretched time for the Cherries, ultimately concluding with relegation despite winning at Everton on the final day of the season.
Howe, who looked utterly exhausted after giving absolutely everything for the club with which he had been inextricably linked at that point in his life, departed without being able to say goodbye.
The unconditional love still felt for him at Bournemouth is in stark contrast to the feelings being expressed towards his current successor in the Cherries' dugout.
Social media has been awash this week with demands for Gary O’Neil to be sacked, although the reaction from those who actually went to Saturday’s game at Brighton has been more measured, pointing to the performance of debutant Hamed Traore and the injury list which seems ever-growing.
Expect high emotions on Saturday as Howe returns. But the off-field tensions will only rise unless results turn.
