Lyon: A few seasons ago everyone was saying Salah is the best in the world and now they're saying he's not so great. For me I respect Salah more now than a few years ago because he's still getting a few goals even when the going has got tough. Anyone can score when you're on form and confident.

What a counter attack, they broke so quickly, so slick, that was like the Liverpool of old. Down that left hand side, it was so quick, the ball comes across.
Mo Salah darting through the centre, Pickford is unsure, Salah beats him to it and just strokes it past him from the edge of the area.
So clinical from Liverpool, just after Everton had that opportunity from the set piece right on to the back post, Tarkowski with the header.

Theo: Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really think a player swearing at the referee should be an immediate red card offence. See it way too often and once in this game already. It's never a good look and would result in serious consequences in any other major sport. Needs stamping out.
SuperSpoonerman: For all the criticisms of refs (and I've certainly contributed) they have to keep their cool when players tell them 'where to go' - twice in quick succession from Andy Robertson.
Anon: Why are Liverpool exempt from the rules surrounding dissent and abuse of officials? Henderson and Robertson swearing and screaming at the ref constantly and it's allowed to slide. Why do the rules just not apply to certain teams?
Liverpool 0-0 Everton
Good header from James Tarkowski, heading Trent Alexander-Arnold's delivery away.
It drops for Stefan Bajcetic 30 yards out and the youngster has a go, but it's not troubling Jordan Pickford.

The tempo is increasing, Liverpool are getting into better areas, wider positions, putting balls in.
Pickford has just picked a difficult one up from Alexander-Arnold.
The chance, Cody Gakpo, he's got to do much better. He was central in the six-yard box, he just heads it wide from the Nunez volley, sort of overhead kick but he's got to hit the target.
