    Since joining Villa in the summer Rachel Daly has proved herself to be one of the WSL's best goalscorers, currently level with Manchester City's Khadija Shaw with eight in nine games.

    Her goals have been worth eight points to Aston Villa this season, twice as valuable as any other player's strikes in the WSL this season.

    Daly's eight goals also account for 62% of Aston Villa's 13 scored so far this term.

    A reminder that she plays as a defender for England.

    Both sides suffered losses by a three-goal margin in their final game before the winter break.

    Tottenham lost 3-0 to Everton in the league's final match, with defender Ashleigh Neville being sent off in the 90th minute.

    Villa, meanwhile, were beaten 4-1 by Arsenal.

    If you'd said a couple of years ago that Jordan Nobbs and Lucy Staniforth would be Aston Villa players, few would believe you.

    But Villa have had a statement January transfer window so far, bringing in the two England internationals from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively on permanent deals.

    They start for Carla Ward's side today.
